COLD MORNING

Last night was cold, but I was thankful that it wasn't terribly windy. Occasionally it got blustery, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be. This morning the thermometer read -2, and the pipes were frozen, so I got the space heater plugged in and in about 15 minutes we had water again. Did you know goats really enjoy HOT water? It is good for them when it is so cold outside. Another thing I noticed is that they seem to like more baking soda when all they have to eat is hay and grain. They tend to bloat more, I guess.

Well, I have supplies to make soap again today, so I must. I am currently filling orders for Valentine's Day and am looking ahead to Mother's Day. I am truly enjoying my new "double hobby" of keeping dairy goats and making goat milk soap. In two months we will have kidding season! I am looking forward to green grass, warm sunshine, and bouncing kids.
