Apple Crisp
~Greetings from our PA mountain homestead~

Fall is almost here and I could feel it this morning when I went outside to do the chores...substantial frost covered the ground and as the sun warmed the earth steam began to rise...
Time to make some yummy apple crisp! My neighbor (she is a new blogger here! :) requested some recipes, so here is my favorite. It is wonderful a' la mode or with milk on top, too.
~APPLE CRISP~
Combine: 6 T. each of brown and white sugar,
1/2 to 2/3 c. flour
3/4 to 1 c. quick oats
Then add: 1/2 c. melted butter or marg.
Pare and slice 4-6 medium apples into an 8" baking dish , sprinkle topping over the apples, and pour 1/2 c. water evenly over the top. Sprinkle cinnamon over this, and bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!
