Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
Psalm 3:1-4

    A Home For Us?
I do not have much time at all to type. The little children are with me in this tiny room and finding mischief absolutely everywhere.

A few days ago, the woman in charge of the "Transitional Living Program" told me there was a home available if we wanted it.

It's a duplex in a very nice area. It's a small town about an hour from relatives.

I told her, today, that I'd spoken with the children and have thought about it. We're going to move forward in this direction.

Still no headway in the attorney department.

    No one to represent me.

I tried to contact the Legal program ... but they refuse to return my calls.

I just wish I had taken the money when I left! I would have had someone to help me, now!

What good is a house to move into... without children to accompany me!?

To all of you who suggested I flee with the children to another state... or move further "underground"... I am already facing court charges of felony - having fled with the children to a shelter. I am now trying to figure how I'm supposed to prove "just cause" to the courts ... without legal aid or "proof".

God bless all of you who remember the children and I in your prayers. I cannot tell you how very much that means to me.

Eph 6:12: For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Carrie, I and my sister in Christ are doing spirtual warfare for you tonight! Please, if you are a warring sister in Christ who is ready to take on your sister's burden and in this fulfill the law of Christ, please join us tonight in praying for Carrie and in breaking these chains of oppression and destruction that are trying to overtake her life and the lives of her children.

Let's give her husband up over to the Lord to be touched and lead by the Holy Spirit to stop this attack on his own family and humble himself before God. And let's pray that those that are helping him cease their help suddenly.

Let's give these lawyers up over to God, these courts, this shelter and believe in Jesus for a miracle change in her life today, tonight, now!!!

In Jesus' Mighty Name, Name above all names!!!! There is no other like the name of Jesus! On this rock we stand!

    Amen!

Carrie, this is exciting news about the duplex!!!! Finally a place of your own!!! Sounds like God is handling your problems, one at a time. Maybe he needed to get you out of that shelter, before dealing with the lawyer situation. Don't give up, keep calling, and asking others for any advice and tips on getting a lawyer.

I want you to know I am praying for you, lifting you and the children up in this situation. I am praying for a hedge of protection over all of you. I pray that God will send you the exact lawyer he would want you to have to be able to fight your side of this.

Hang in there Carrie, we are all pulling for you, and praying for you!!!!!! Sending you love and thoughts from Missouri!!

    God's Blessings,
    Amy Jo

Maybe someone suggested this already, or you're already doing this, but just in case...

You need to get signed afidavits from every person your husband is stalking/harrassing.

Also, do you have scars, and evidences of broken ribs? Furthermore, I believe children ages 12 and over (differnt in different states) can testify as witnesses to the crimes he has committed.

Something's gotta give. Look at all of your options, and be confident in the Lord.

    Thursday, July 31, 2008 - defamation?

    Dear Carrie,

I am not a lawyer and do not know much about legal matters at all, but I have been wondering whether this website could be a problem for you if your husband finds out about it somehow. Could he claim defamation or something? I remember another case that received a lot on internet attention and the woman had to stop blogging about it. I don't remember the details, though.

I really am very interested in everything you write here. It is fascinating and so good to remind us to keep praying but I just don't want you to put yourself at risk, you know?

Also, I would suggest that you keep a notebook and list every single call you've made for help, noting the date and time, and ask the name of the person who you have been talking to (receptionist) and write that down, too. Then you'll have a record that shows you've desperately tried to get help.

I am going to bed soon and will lift up your family in prayer.

    Carrie,

I have a thought. If I was closer to you, I have someone that would represent you. But, since I am not. I have two thoughts.

    1. Have you called a Christian Crisis Pregnancy Center? I used to volunteer with one and they can often find legal support for these types of situations. You can find them online. 800-395-HELP

    2. Call every lawyer in the phone book. Many will take pro bono cases. You have to ask, beg and plead. I had a friend do this and it worked. She was in a similar situation. It took about 30 phone calls, but it worked.

Im not sure this will help, but you might try contacting Home School legal defence association. I dont know if they take on this kind of case, but since you are a homeschooling family they might. There number is 540-338-5600. I will be praying that they can help you. I know you should have more rights than everyone is telling you.

Carrie, I continue to pray for you and am thrilled that they have a house for you! Things will all work out even if it seems terrifying now. Just remember to trust God. When things get to big (and even when they are small), turn them over to God. Give Him the burden and ask Him to show you the way to go, then go there. He will not lead you wrong!! When you let go of the burden and let God deal with it, you will be surprised at how things work out for the good. We humans are sinful and I can say from experience that we screw everything up when we take it in our own hands and are driven by worry rather than trust. But, when we finally succumb and completely surrender our cares and worries to Him, He takes care of them. Take some time after the children go to sleep and just sit with God. He is right there waiting for you to let Him take control.
    I pray vigorously for you.
