yardwork.......Since Joey was sleeping, I decided to be lazy, too. Of course skipping the 30 min 8am workout, means doing the hour long 9am so I'm not sure how lazy that is.......LOL But I started laundry, did that workout and Joey stumbled down at almost 10. I made a call after that workout, got out bfasts and we started trimming hedges. I realized that if I did all my yardwork today, then I'd have hte next 2 weeks off. So I weeded around the house and pool all while doing 4 loads of laundry. I finally got to sit down about 1:30. But everyone has clean sheets, towels and clothes and the yard is somewhat decent. Now I can catch up online until mom calls for me to pick up Mat.999 and this oneThis is my 1,000Th post. WOW! I can't believe I actually had 999 things to post about. It only took me a little over three years to do it too, lol. I noticed the number sometime last week and thought to myself that the post should be a special one at the least. Well I have been sitting on it for over a week now and it's come down to this. "I have nothing of importance or excitement to say at this time". LOL I guess my life is a little boring, which is not a bad thing, it means no drama. So this is it, my big 1000th post.I would however like to say a big THANK YOU to each and every one of you who have come to visit my blog throughout these last three years. That is what has kept me blogging and finding 999 things to say. Please continue to visit me here, because who knows, I may have something to say soon, . Have a blessed day! Good MondayThere is a slight chance of a shower today. I sure hope it comes because we need it something badly. Over the weekend my husband rented a bobcat to move the piles of dirt in the back. He filled in some ruts and holes. Also burried a septic tank for the dog kennels. (Mr. Invention) They are suppose to be coming sometime this morning to pick it up. We really need a tractor of our own. One that we can mow with and with a front loader. Maybe one day. My husband's boss will not be at work for quite some time. On Saturday he had a tree fall on him. He broke his hip, some ribs & a couple other problems too. Please say a prayer for them if you can. Today we'll be around the homestead until time for Ju Jitsu practice. Abby & I will be visiting the library after we drop him off to pick up some movies. When it's this hot it's just a good time to stay in during the afternoon & watch a good movie. We saw "The Sin Eater" last week. It was ok. A bit odd in my opinion but Abby really liked it. I've got a couple of projects to do to keep me busy for the next couple of days. I can hardly believe June is almost over. Our summer is going by so fast. Hope you all have a fun day! more changesFor the most part, we have been having beautiful weather. I could live without the high humidity but my tomato plants really seem to like so I won't complain too much. I have even been able to harvest my lettuce twice!Today, I am off to a job interview. It's for a full time position at the mall close to my new house. I believe I timed the walk at 7 minutes or somewhere close to that. The job is in a clothing store, which, I wear clothes, I'm sure it would be fun to work in a store like that. So heres hoping I do well on the interview Brightest Blessings Heather a trip to clean up the river! We survived the river. It was actually pretty fun. The kids all got kayaks, which wound up being great cuz they could get in places that the canoes could not. We collected a whole plethora of junk from the rive. We dropped in about 11:30 and got out about 3:30. Then we set up camp and Mat stayed w/the youth until they left that night. Last night was not pretty, but we are in our own beds tonight so that will make up for that. It was VERY nice weather wise at least. We got things under control and went geocaching. We found 5 of hte 6 that we tried for. I thought that was incredible given that the trees really block GPS signals (making much more guess work), I had a borderline migraine, Joey and I were the only ones who had read the clues and that was 2-3 days ago, this isn't really DH's 'bag' and Mat was cranky!ROTFL!!!!!!!!! So then we met my family for lunch and went back to their house to get stuff out for the parade and came home. I'm doing river clothes and sheets cuz they STANK (well the clothes did--I just want the sheets back in the popup!LOL).4 little bread pans all in a rowMy mom gave me this cute little set of tin bread pans. 4 all hooked together. Very cute & it fit into my countertop oven.
They were crying out to be filled with a little treasure.
So I abliged them and baked some yummy zucchini bread. Bottles are best...for feeding little piggies that is
Little yorkies would like a sip as well. Can you see his little tongue sticking out?

Not too shabby. The organic milk was marked down as it will expire in 3 days. The burritos were a treat for my son. (he loves those yucky things) I am planning on making my own salad dressing using buttermilk mixed with the ranch seasoning. I think it will probably be a tad runny but still good and not so many chemicals & goo like in the bottled stuff. I will let you know if it turns out. T-YarnI have a site bookmarked on my computer that uses recycled materials to make bags and purses. While I've seen a lot of wal-mart bags used in crochet, I never knew about T-yarn. This is taking t-shirts and cutting then to make a yarn to crochet or knit with. What a good way to reycle old t-shirts. We get a lot of them. The site is http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2009/06/05/making-t-yarn-from-recycled-tee-shirts/ . Here is a picture of the T-yarn taken from that site. Summer is here...And it's hot, hot, hot!
We've been getting our outdoor chores done in the mornings as we've had a heat index warning of 105* for the past couple of days. The children have been enjoying their cousins being here just about every day. (My sister-in-law, like most summer, weekends, holidays, etc. seems to think that my mother-in-law and I are great babysitters.) As she drops her children off as often as possible with my mother-in-law. They just always seem to end up back here.(my mother-in-law lives 2 1/2 acres in front of me) --Soon enough school will be back in session & things will go back to normal. Have I mentioned I really like normal? I've been working on getting the children's plans for history & science done. The main 2 books I'm working with are Streams of Civilization Volume 1 I got Streams of Civilization on ebay and the Science on from Amazon. I'm just going through and making out a daily lesson plan and adding things to go along here and there. I'm also making a list as I go along on extra books and things we may need to get ahead of time from the library. For dinner tonight instead of what is on the menu, we're having left-over fish, beans & potato salad. So just a little re-heating for me. Hope you all have a fun afternoon! { Last Page } { Page 2 of 5 } { Next Page } |
