Can someone tell me...

Is there a way to respond to a comment directly to the person who left it?  The only way I have found is to go to their blog and post it as a new comment in some area of their blog..  which seems so disjointed, when trying to answer a question they have left as a comment.  Is there a better way?

When I commented to someone's blog, she responded to me by using a private message. And I was able to respond to her. However, I'm new and not sure how she found the private message area. I would think if it is a topical question that others would want the answer to, you could respond by adding your own comment below hers (in your blog). If she asked a question, odds are she will come back for the answer.
Well, that is my inexperienced two cents :-)

I just started replying to comments in my blog yesterday. I add a comment to my post under all the other comments. I type Re: (commenter's subject line) in the subject line of my reply then my response in the message box. It's not terribly efficient, especially if you have lots of comments on a single post, but it works for me.

HI. 4timesblessed mentioned sending a private message. You can do that by going to view the profile of the person who asked the question and in the top left corner there is a line that says "Send Message". Click there and you should be able to write to them directly.
