Well, our Sr. dinner at church went well last night.  Food was good and plenty of it as only 7 of the Senior class attended.  We have decided to set it earlier in the year next year to try to avoid so many conflicts.

Yesterday afternoon I got an email from son, Ryan inviting us to come to their house this evening for an early Mother's Day supper.  Mom and I went and it was lovely, we enjoyed spending the evening with the grandkids (and kids)!  Hubby was having a bout with a really sore lower back, so after taking some pain meds he decided to stay home. 

It was a lovely day here.  I set out some tomato plants, some cucumber and watermelon plants also that we had started in the greenhouse.   I also made a walk-way in the garden with feed sacks for the base and then hay layered on top.  I had wanted to do that for a while, but it has been so windy I finally thought today would be a good day to work on it.  I was surprised how long it took to do, so I only got one done.  There are 2 more to go.  I hope this will last for a few years.   I would have liked to do some more planting today too, but ran out of time as we had to get ready to leave late afternoon.  Rain is on the way again overnight, so don't know if I will be able to work in the garden tomorrow?

Little Sassy, the puppy we kept, is doing well.  I went out the other night after dark and she barked at me!   As soon as she heard my voice she came running, it was so cute.  But I was really impressed that at 6 weeks she was barking at something moving at night!  One morning I found her asleep in the goat pen...........she seems to be fitting right in.

Marilyn,
I am glad the dinner went well. It is a bit of a challenge to get things scheduled this time of year. Your plants sound like they are coming right along. I thought I was going to get rained out of the garden today, but it looks like it might miss us.
