Friends

This morning the phone rang and a friend was in town, so I invited her out for a cup of coffee.  She didn't have long to stay, but we had a nice visit.  She lives about 8 miles on the other side of town and we are 4 miles out of town this way, so with the price of gas we don't go back and forth a lot.

This was a relaxed (I hate to say lazy) day around here. 

Then this afternoon another friend stopped by that I hadn't seen for quite a while.  She raises goats and we have a lot in common.  She has been going through a rough time, so we had a lot to chat about.  By the time she left and I got chores done, it was dark when I came in to start supper.  What a wonderful surprise when she arrived and handed me a pretty yellow gift bag.......she said here is your birthday present.  Well I looked at her kind of funny as my birthday isn't until the middle of June!   She said she thought it was in April.........so I got a very early present!  She laughed and said I didn't have to turn a year older even though I got a present!

We both love the artist Robert Duncan!!  If you are not familiar with his work, I am sure you would enjoy it.

i an avid reader on homestead blogger. i think in an eariler blog you mentioned emporia? is that emporia, ks? if so did you know doc hunter from lebo. if so that was my uncle kenneth. just curious.
