we sort of moved to our country home here.  I say sort of because we stayed here and slept on the floor for the first night.  Moving was another story!   My Daddy had been in a nursing home for almost exactly a year, and Mom bought a house in town.  We moved her the 17th and finished up a few things on the 18th.  Then the next night we decided to sleep here.   We moved very slowly following that.  Brought the things we needed and once we were comfortable with that it was very hard to go back and deal with all of the "stuff" we didn't have room for!!!  This house is about 1000 sq. feet and about 1/2 the size of the one we moved from.........so you see the problem there!  But of course eventually it all got moved and we just love it here.

You may already know, but our home has been in my Dad's family since 1925.  He was born in this house and lived all but 6 months of his 75 years here.   So, that is very special to us to continue the family story!   Things are quite different now, he farmed the land and raised cattle and a few horses.  My cousin farms the land and the pastures are rented to a neighbor now.  We have many different kinds of critters and I often wonder if he would approve of some of them (goats and sheep don't belong on a cattle farm!!!)  but, I know he would want me to be happy and that I am!

Speaking of goats.........last night Ladybug delivered her baby about 11, I told you about that in last night's post.  I went to bed at 2am after checking on her, got up at 5am to check on them again, then slept until 9:30 this morning.  So today got off to a slow start!   I was busy in the house, hubby went to get groceries for our family dinner on Saturday.         He left about 11 this morning and checked the goat girls then, at 1 I took a break and went out to check and sure enough...........Pearl had a single doeling in the barn and Jasmine had twins outside on the hay!!   Only 3 left that are due to kid in the next week or so.  I have no pictures yet, but will try to get some taken soon.

This afternoon we moved goats around, some does back in with the bucks for fall kids and mama's and babies put together in one big group.  That doesn't sound like much, but it took some time, and along with chores the afternoon was gone.

Hubby fixed supper, grilled pork chops!  It was a lovely day here, the mud is drying up a little and tomorrow is supposed to be wonderful.

I am taking Grandson Nick to a 4-H field trip tomorrow, then he will come home with me and spend a couple of days here with us!  Looking forward to that time with him.

Country Blessings,
