More babies today

Last evening at feeding time I noticed a much bigger bag on Pumpkin and predicted that she would kid this morning.  Dh went out to check first thing this morning and didn't see anything happening.  But a little before 9 he came and said get your shoes on and come out......so I knew a little one must be on the way! Of course I had been messing around in the house and had not moved the last two does who kidded out of the kidding pens like I should have first thing today............When I got to the barn, there was Lilly in labor, she was due on Monday, but I thought she would probably deliver tomorrow.  Dh started moving does and babies and I stayed with her.  After she dropped one baby, we moved her into a kidding pen and not long after she delivered her second.  Both little doelings weighing 9 lbs. each. 

When I first went out to watch Lilly I noticed that Pumpkin sure enough was streaming a little mucous too!  After Lilly delivered her first, Pumpkin was helping her clean it up and talking to it also.   So as soon as Lilly was settled, we got Pumpkin moved too.  About a minute after Lilly's second one came, Pumpkin delivered a single buckling weighing 11 lbs.  She was pretty uncomfortable so I helped pull the baby's head, probably wouldn't have needed to, but I knew she was ready to get it over with!  So, today brought 3 new babies again within an hour.  Such fun we have here this time of year!!!

At least so far this year we have had wonderful healthy babies with no problems being born.  I am so thankful for this blessing!  Past years have not been as good, so we really appreciate the good times!

This afternoon, Dh was able to till the rest of the garden areas, and we picked up and stacked a bunch of lumber and siding etc.  and burned what was needed.  We still have several "projects" as far as hauling off, burning, going through.......but we are making great progress and some areas around the farm are starting to look so much better!  That lifts the spirits for sure.

Such sweet little things. Goat kids are my all time favorite gift from God.

Awe...I've never owned any goats but they have the sweetest looking faces. I've enjoyed going over past entries of yours today. : )
