A Good Thursday on and off the Farm

This morning started with a goat check, no new babies.........

Then some laundry, breakfast, not too exciting so far..............

A lady in town had ordered a cherry pie, so I started it.  I really enjoy baking pies.  And I even thought to take some pictures today, so here they are..........................

As soon as it came out of the oven, I rushed outdoors to do chores.  I walk past Robin's pen where she and us have been awaiting the arrival of her babies...................and I notice some extra legs on the other side of her................the new arrival!   Dh had checked an hour earlier and by now the single 11 lb. buckling is up and has eaten and partially dried off already.  This is the kind of kidding I like! 

And here he is.................

As soon as chores are done, it is time to shift gears.  Mom needs her hearing aid adjusted, so I pick her up in town and head for the city.  Now I am talking about Emporia, so not really a city to some, but as big as you get close by us.   That only took a few minutes, so we had the rest of the afternoon to look around.  Mom doesn't drive in the above mentioned "city" so she enjoys going once in a while.  We made several stops and had a good time..........Aldis, Dollar General, Sutherlands, Walgreens as you can see we are easily entertained!  Then the finally stop was McDonalds...........yes, we have a tradition of a strawberry shake on any outting together!!   Since I had most of the chores done at home, we even went in and sat down and visited instead of taking it to go  like we have to many times.  I think Mom enjoyed the day and I did too!

Today is our only girl's birthday,  Happy 39th to Jody................

Just came in from the goat check, no new babies, Robin and her son seem to be doing fine.  It is supposed to be cold and nasty again tomorrow, today was pretty nice.  Thankful for each nice day!

Sounds like a great day spent with your mom shopping and drinking shakes!!!! Your pie is almost too beautiful to eat!!! And the animals are sooo cute. I want to pet them! LOL

It is so nice to spend time with our moms. What a cute baby goat. We just had 4 born last week with 2 more moms ready to kid. God Bless. mj
