Hey, I am back!
I see that it has been way too long since I checked in here! I was spending too much time reading blogs...not that I didn't enjoy it, but needed to pace myself better. I didn't intend to disappear for so long.
We have about 30 goat kids now, they are just the most fun to watch run and play! Ruby had a single buckling on Easter evening, the first we had had in two weeks. Have 3 more that are close and then 1 due about the end of May.
The weather has been crazy lately, very cold, lots of rain, some snow!! I know we are not alone in this matter, many have had it worse than here. Kansas is known for the wheat grown here, I just heard on the news that they predict 46% of the crop was lost last week with the extreme cold! That is sad and scarey for the farmers.
We had a nice Easter, hope everyone else did as well. Our kids and Grandkids along with my Mom were here on Saturday for dinner, it was quite cool, but the kids still had fun outside. They love to run and play with the animals! The tire swing got a work out too. The Grandkids that were here range in age from 17 down to 3, so quite a variety.
The garden did not fair well in the cold weather. Seem to have lost most of what was up, but that was only lettuce and radishes, the potatoes will come back, not sure how the onions will do. Things in the greenhouse are doing pretty well. Ours doesn't have the entire top open for light, I don't believe things are getting quite enough light. May have to redo it some for next year.
Better get off to bed. Today was pretty unproductive for me, the gloomy, yucky day outside seemed to carry over to me inside.........so hope tomorrow will find me a little more motivated!
