Winter Wonderland

What a winter we are having this year. It has been a long time since we have had much winter weather, or at least for it to last very long. Yesterday it was rainy all day. We

watched the weather at 10 and they talked like it was really snowing in Topeka. Didn't look out the window after 10:30 until I got ready to go out to do barn check at 1:30 and WOW had it snowed! Snowing and blowing, could hardly see the barn, reminded me of Little House on the Prairie. Instead of tying a rope to follow, I took my radio!! Modern technology is good sometimes...........

Snow had blown in on one of the heat lamps and burned it out, so had to move one goat family and install a new lamp and bulb for another in that storm. Then by the4am check it had quit snowing, our tracks were all gone from earlier. At 6:45 tracks pretty much gone again. All that, and no new babies......that is fine, I sure prefer them to come during the daylight hours. It takes a while to get them all settled in and I would rather not have to be doing that all night. Don't mind a quick trip during the night to make sure all is well and then right back inside!

However, after 2 weeks of round the clock checks, I am really feeling tired tonight! It is so fun though, we have 12 cute little babies scattered here and there around the farm to watch and love on!

I got back to the closet reorganizing this afternoon, have a pile started to get out the door one way or another. I don't know why it is so hard for me to get rid of things, I am forcing myself to with this project and I know I will be so much happier when I have done it! I also have a bad habit of tearing into something, like going through things, getting almost done and then stopping and leaving it because I don't really know what to do with the last few things. I really want a neat organized house, but seem to get stumped at the end of each area.

Got a call today and the little 3 year old grand daughter is coming to stay with us tomorrow evening until Friday or Saturday. Looking forward to that as she is so much fun to have around. She will just have a ball with the goat babies. I only hope the weather is such that she can be out to play with them some. Friday is supposed to be a little warmer, we will hope that happens.

Couldn't get motivated to fix much food today, so supper for me was vegetable soup I had frozen and Dh fixed himself an omlet.
