Winter boots~Warm feet

Before Christmas I was reading on one of the Homestead yahoo groups I am on about warm winter wear. Several were talking about how much they liked Ranger boots, they are a lined, waterproof boot good for doing winter chores. DH decided he needed a pair.........so when the kids asked about gift ideas for him that was my suggestion. They gave him a gift certificate so he could try them on. This was at a store about an hour away, and finally a couple weeks ago we went and picked them up. He is so happy with them, feet really stay warm! If you have ever worn flimsy mud boots.........you know that is important. Well, since we have had snow on the ground for quite a while now, he has decided that I need a pair also, which I do. I contacted our local farm store by email last night, and they responded that they do not carry these boots, but could order them for me! Yeah......warm feet are in the future!!
Lunch today was our very favorite Chicken and Noodles, accomponied by mashed potatoes, fresh frozen corn and rolls. Now, DH is a very picky eater, and this even suits his tastes. We were so full after lunch could hardly do anything this afternoon! That is until the goats pushed the gate open when I went in to feed them and we both got a good work out getting them corraled again! You see, I had left the barn door open.........where the feed sacks are stored.........and yes, they know exactly where to head if they get out!
Temps today were around 50........BUT, there is a cold front coming in and not much above freezing is forecast for tomorrow. January will be over in less than a week, and then February is a short month and then when March arrives it seems like we are well on our way to spring!

God's blessings on you, yours and the work of your hands.
