Make your own...
Posted in Our life
|
I am looking for a good site that has make your own cleaners and
soaps. I don't have any money right now in the budget for a
book. *sniff* But if you know a good book, please leave the
name of that so I can put it on my wishlist. :-) Other than that I am making out my order for our seeds. There seem to be quite a bit of pumpkins on the list. hmmm... lol. It's really hot here all day and nearly freezing all night. Weird weather. If it wasn't for the freeways I'd think I'd moved back to Montana and that it was summer. I gave up on gluten-free bread making for now. Our meals just don't include sandwiches any more. I figure if people lived for thousands of years without them, we can make it through fine too. lol We were sick a week ago for the whole week. Now I am playing catch up. I feel so far behind and I guess I have to make my priority my home and family. That is the mantra I'll be chanting while I'm cleaning instead of blogging and reading blogs. haha |

carrots
Posted in Our life
|
The last time we planted carrot seeds it was a disaster. It turns
out that they are something ants particularly love and they took each
and every last one. So, no carrots. I was hoping to start
them indoors this year but I just read that they do not transplant
well. Anyone grow carrots without ant problems? Thanks. |

Pointsettia
Posted in Our life
This pointsettia is from my mil's garden. I've never had any luck
with the one's I've planted but as you can see, hers is tremendous.

Need ideas/help
Posted in Our life
|
OK, still attempting that bread. I did get all the ingredients in
this time. I think I'll have to cook it on a higher setting
tonight. It sank and is kind of moist. But that's not my need...What am I supposed to do with all these egg yolks? Each night I will have three left over. Any ideas? Also, does anyone know of a good book that shows the usage of poultry from bought (I can't have them here so the raising and slaughtering are not necessary) to finish? I do not know how to use the bird completely and would like to be able to buy a turkey and cook it up and do all the soup stuff and left over stuff. My family loves turkey so they would be thrilled to get one in the non-turkey time of year. Thanks. |
