One thing I have known since before I got all these weird ideas in my
head about being able to homestead on just our small parcel was that I
really needed to get organized. Not into a neat-nik, but just so
the whole house won't fall apart while I'm outside weeding the gardens
or helping Stanley with the rabbits. I've been getting better at
keeping everything picked up but I decided to go back to
Getorganizednow.com and follow along with their monthly "to do" list so
I could stay on top of some of the extras. The monthly lists have one thing to do each day. This month's list starts with "Write up 3 goals for the month of January and the steps needed to acheive each of them. Then, schedule time on your calendar to work on each goal. Here are my three goals. I'm still working on some of the timing. 1) Make Budget. This is the easy one (for me, that is). We haven't had one since my dh took over the bills when I was pregnant with Louis. I'm not complaining, it just is something that is a necessity. I'm hoping to get him to let me start working on it next week after our vacation. 2) Finish the boys' room. I got in a wee bit over my head with my painting idea and it's going to take a few days longer than I thought. It's my fault. I procrastinated again and didn't even start until the 2nd and I was sick that day. Not smart. 3) Schedule time to make bread. This is so I can get a time figured out. Today I'm going to try doing it before bed. Yes, that means I'm cheating with a bread machine. Some day I'll get back to the good old fashioned way but I really need a jump start or we'll never eat sandwich's around here again. My in-laws and dh all said the last bread I made turned out ok. It looked weird to me and I'm a coward. I suppose it will take adjusting to the new flavor. All those years eating whole wheat bread didn't prepare me for soy or rice based. |
