Make your own...

Posted in Our life

I am looking for a good site that has make your own cleaners and soaps.  I don't have any money right now in the budget for a book.  *sniff*  But if you know a good book, please leave the name of that so I can put it on my wishlist. :-)

Other than that I am making out my order for our seeds.  There seem to be quite a bit of pumpkins on the list.  hmmm... lol.  It's really hot here all day and nearly freezing all night.  Weird weather.  If it wasn't for the freeways I'd think I'd moved back to Montana and that it was summer.

I gave up on gluten-free bread making for now.  Our meals just don't include sandwiches any more.  I figure if people lived for thousands of years without them, we can make it through fine too. lol

We were sick a week ago for the whole week.  Now I am playing catch up.  I feel so far behind and I guess I have to make my priority my home and family.  That is the mantra I'll be chanting while I'm cleaning instead of blogging and reading blogs.  haha

I no nothing about soaps, BUT I clean my whole house w/vinegar, bakign soda nad borax. Baking soda is a mild scrubbign agent, vinegar is a disinfectant and rinse and borax is used in the toilets (and my homemade laundry detergent).

However 2 good books that I have are Clean and Green and Clean House, Clean Planet.

I dont know of any websites, but I just read a couple of books recently on the subject. I recommend "Clean, Naturally" by Sandy Maine and "The Naturally Clean Home" by Karen Siegel-Maier. HTH

I'm not crazy about gluten free breads either and I don't eat lots of bread. But the 2-stage process of making breads has helped me and many, many others eat bread again. If you go to this link you can read more about this:

http://www.urbanhomemaker.com/articles and read about the 2-Stage process which maximizes nutritional value.
