My Garden/Yard To Do List
Posted on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 06:23 - Post Comment
~ Weed Eating and mowing
~ Weeding Flower beds and triming the edges
~ Get all the logs carried to the wood pile from the dead trees cut down around the yard
~ Finish the Zucchini bed - needs more layers of mulch - then seeds
~ Paint the barn - maybe tomorrow, Christina already started
~ Begin work on the lower garden
~ Take care of the Raspberry patch
~ Take care of the Strawberry patch
~ Paint the deck
~ Paint the porch
Today I mowed the grass. Thankfully Vanessa came and offered to do half of it. Later I mowed the orchard. It is Major hard work! Really hard on my wrists. Anyway, could not use any of the grass clippings from the orchard because the dandelion seeds are very thick. So I used it to mulch one of the cherry trees and the apricot tree.
I am very thankful the Lord saw fit to save our apricots from the frost. The tree is loaded!!! There are few cherries, though, and plums, nectarines and peaches may be slim pickings this year. I am so grateful for those cots! We eat frozen apricot jam and sauce all winter long. So good on the coconut waffles Vanessa made this morning.
We woke to the sound of the frost fans roaring in the valley. So far as I can tell there wasn't any frost, but sometimes the farmers set the thermostat a little high, and sometimes there is frost in the valley that doesn't affect us on the hill.
I am sneaking in my "in the house" To Do list here:
~ Finish make a dress for Brianna
~ cut out a few more jumpers and dresses for all the girls
~ wash the windows
~ finish the stain job on the kitchen cupboards
~ do a paint touch-up on the doors and trim
Oh, Angela!!!

I'm so glad to see you are blogging... I've been in such a daze the last month or so, I didn't even pay attention! Whooosh! over my head!
Anyways, the link above is one I followed when I made my recipe. (I liked the pictures! LOL). IF I remember right, it gelled fine.
But, I've had plenty of jelly NOT gel. Some of it will eventually gel, sometimes not for a couple weeks, so I've learned to be patient... if it is a little gelled, I just wait. If it is like water... then I might dump it or re add the pectin and boil it again. So glad to see you here!
Warmly, ~Melissa
** ok, now laugh at me. I've been reading your blog, just didn't realize it was YOU! DUH! Yes, my brain is on overload! I read blogs to calm me down when recording school is driving me nuts! LOL. Not much thinking going on!
