When I finally got up at 3 am this morning I thought, " I have had enough of this trying to sleep business. It's time to do something a whole lot more fun than counting sheep".
I started digging through the sewing stuff and some of the fabric I brought back from Africa and decided to get crafty. I used to love to sew but it seems I don't have much time for it anymore. And another thing; I used "own" all my sewing supplies but this morning I found the fabric scissors in a box of things Christina was making in her room, I found the quilting board under a puzzle by the Christmas tree, the buttons were no where to be found (until Vanessa discovered them in a barrette box in the bathroom), I couldn't find a decent ruler despite the fact we homeschool and consequently have about 2 dozen rulers about the place, etc.... It took me an hour just to set up and get all my supplies in order but after that it became more enjoyable.
These little purses evolved as I created them. Everybody had ideas and so my original plan didn't look anthing like the end product. My husband kept saying if you bought this little thing, or that little thing it would look so nice. Well, my goal was to create with whatever I had on hand without going to the store and without spending a dime. Some of the fabric was scraps from a quilt Brianna and I made last year. The zebra/ giraffe fabric I bought in Tanzania.
