Tomorrow I will be 39 years old! Oh, dear! Why is it that it took forever to reach 16 and I couldn't hang onto 35 for hardly a minute?????????? Friends threw a surprise party for me last week I begged them not to use 39 candles so they didn't.
So much for getting the house totally clean today! I had to run errands in town since I hadn't been there for 2 weeks it took me a few hours. I also spent time in the kitchen preparing food for the Vegan Community Picnic. I made Quinoa salad and marinated cucumber salad. My garden is overflowing with good things! I can't keep up with it all. I spent a lot of time cleaning vegetables to be given away.
My sweet potato quesadillas are a huge hit... everybody is making them now and they were even served at the Vegan Picnic. Everybody is crazy about them.
Just a word of consolation, you are BEAUTIFUL!! Age is just a number.. don't stress about it. =)
Your salads look delicious! I think you should post the ingredients.. hint hint.. especially the cucumber salad.. I just got 10 HUGE cukes out of my garden two days ago.. I think I will go slice one in vinegar for my late night snack.
Blessings dear sister!!

Woo Hoo! We're 39 together! Hee hee! Took you long enough! *Ü*
Thanks for your little note. I do appreciate it. Sorry my notes have sounded down the last couple times, just getting the best of me, I think.
Yesterday I got my oven/stove, so we are back cooking again. Dh woke up this morning and says... we can have a real breakfast today, eh? I'm excited to getting to make some granola and bread again... we've been buying store bought and I recall liking that stuff at one point and DH preferring that stuff at another point, but even HE is dying for our homemade wheat rolls and wheat bread. God is good... perhaps to show him how much he indeed did like the homemade bread. Even up until we lost the stove, he was buying white buns aside from what I was making and after now only getting store bought wheat or white buns for 3 weeks, he is done with them, I guess! LOL.
My peas and beans are coming now... hoping I can can some before next week. My Dad is having back surgery next Tuesday. He needs help with the horses for a couple weeks and I'm not sure how to arrange that and care for our farm at the same time... seems bringing them down to our place would be best, but we don't have enough pasture for another 9 horses. He's also getting 200 bales of hay today to get them through his surgery as no one will be there to get them out to pasture and back each day... they have a mountain lion in the area, I guess and he doesn't want to leave them out to pasture on the wooded hill at night. Not to mention other critters... the wolves and coyotes. Well, I'm trying to come up with a plan for that. My sister is having a biopsy the next Friday and was going to use me for a driver as well. Guess my focus will be off the HOUSE for a bit... which is likely good for my sanity. *grin*
Well off to garden! Don't party too hard!
Warmly, ~Melissa
Hope it was Happy!

Hope you had a happy birthday! You do look very cute - just like the girls - or should I say they look just like you? : )
I love my quinoa salad, yours looks very yummy too. Does red quinoa taste any different than white? I have never tried it. I would love the sweet potato recipe too - all of them in fact.
By the way, I am 49 with three kiddos, so you are very young!
Have a blessed day!
