It's the 4th of July. About time to assess this garden experiment. So the photos have been collected and we went from this:
To this:
We've had our battles. We still have battles to win. But the overall judgement is this:
BEST GARDEN we have ever had on this piece of land!
Steve is just as impressed as I am. He keeps saying, "Why didn't we do it this way before?" Well, the answer to that is, we didn't know. Thanks to the Lasagna Gardening Book we now know!
We are eating our fill daily of the greens, salads onions, cucumbers and herbs... Looking forward to the almost ready zucchinis and cherry tomatoes. Looking forward to plenty of tasty garden produce all summer long.

well, lets just say, your garden is miles ahead of mine. I am so proud of my garden because it is miles ahead of my garden last year but I am having to go by trial and error to find how to make things grow. last year I tried to plant string beans and got only two inch yellow plants. I just planted some under a small green house and withing a week I pretty little green shoots coming up. another week and I have beautiful 4 inch green bean plants. I can't wait for the beans. I just pulled up all my lettuce and selected the best plants for transplanting and then built another short greenhouse. Hopefully we will get bigger leaves now. I pulled up some of my swiss chard as well and planted it in a green house and within a couple weeks it had leaves twice as big as the ones growing outside. So this morning I pulled up some kale and transplanted them into a greenhouse and we will see how much better they will do. I suspect that I will have to make all my garden under greenhouse except for peas.
Keep up the beautiful gardening. It is lovely. Wish we had some of those cherries too but I did manage to get a lot of strawberries and my freezer is loaded because the sales are so good. I expect I'll be getting blueberries soon too as I've seen them coming out on the shelves not and I just have to bide my time and then I'll pounce when they go on sale.
Have a good day.

Ahhh. . . My hubby wouldn't let me buy this book when we got the advertisement for it in the mail. Shame on him! Your garden is absolutely lovely! I will buy the book now - at an inflated price now of course!
