Things to do before summer is over...
Yikes!! I can't believe Summer is nearing an end! The hot weather is just beginning, so I think that is throwing me off a bit. I have so much still to accomplish beforeit is done, and I have to cut almost 2 weeks out of what is left. I am going to San Francisco to teach summer school. My inlaws have a church/rescue mission/school up there, and the teachers are going to be away at a convention. I am excited and my 2 older children are more than happy to be able to go to a "real school" (homeschooling is real enough for me Anyway, back to my so much to accomplish bit...I am going to post my ToDo list as a means of accountability! Here it goes: Plan out school year Organize and get rid of children's clothes Clean out garage Paint boys bedroom Get my chickens Sign Gabrielle up for 4H Do my summer deep cleaning Purchase my Wondermill/Mixer Build a picnic table Put together school area (I feel like I just undid it for summer) Set up little schoolhouse meetings Get play room ready in Phil's shop Okay, the list could go on and on, but I am not a super hero, so I will start there and we'll see how far I get! Prayers are appreciated! My summer TO DO list:1. Organize the garage (I'm using the Emilie Barnes method) 2. Camping theme for summer planned out. Every summer I have a theme for the kids and myself. Last year it was, "Bugs in the Garden." We learned all about bugs and gardening. This year I thought camping would be fun. I grew up camping, but we have yet to take our kiddos. So we will first learn saftey (purchase items need for med. kit), fishing, about equipment, learn to pitch a tent etc... we will "practice in the backyard, and then end the summer with a real camping trip. Hopefully it will turn out as planned! 3. Build a picnic table for backyard. 4. Purchase books need for school next year. Now I am homeschooling 2 of my kids...I'm very excited! 5. Help DH at the shop more, and clean up extra office so the kids have a room while we are there. 6. Purchase wheat grinder so that I can begin grinding my own. 7. Begin knitting my scarves and purses for christmas gifts. (Already have christmas on the brain) 8. My wall washing in the house. I can't think of anymore at the moment, but I will probably add more as the summer progresses. I love summer!! Have a wonderful day everyone! What a day!Well, today has proven to be;"one of those days" already!! Yikes. I was very sick yesterday, and wasn't able to do all that was on my list. So at 7am I woke up, I am usually a 5a.m.er, but not today, my dh even left and I didn't notice. He was so great, and brought me gatorade last night, and when I called him this morning to see why he didn't wake me, he said he figured his,"magic drink" had done it's job. The big miracle in all of this was that all for children were still sound asleep! My TO DO list for tody is: 1. DS5 has a Dr. appt. to check his tummy. He had surgery last october, they had to remove not only his appendix, but also a little over a foot of his small intestine. Please pray that goes well. 2. Spagetti is for dinner tonight, and you can't have spagetti without warm homemade bread, so I need to get that going. 3. Laundry, Laundry, Laundry! 4. I need to fix my clothes line, I am putting pvc pipe on the wire instead so I wont have to use clothes pins. But as I was getting ready to do so, I encountered a Wasp nest inside the Stand. UhOh, I need dh for that one. 5. We are officially done with school for this year, however, we all know that when we homeschool we are never really finished. I am excited, we are going to do charachter training this summer, and a whole camping thing. They have never gone camping, so we will start off learning the basics. Saftey, purchacing a safty kit, fishing, camping in the back yard etc, and at the end of summer we will have our big away from home camping trip!! Well that's all I can think of at the moment, but it should keep me busy. |
