I always feel so much better when I don't have to rush my devotional time in the morning.  We had church last night, and the kids always sleep a little longer on Thursday morning, so I got in some much needed time with the Lord.  The kids are now awake and asking for Breakfast.  I thought I would squeeze in an entry while they are doing their morning routine (make beds, get dressed, pick up room etc.) Then I will make them "Toads in a hole" which they love!

Toads in a Hole

1 slice of bread buttered on both sides

1 egg

Use a cup to cut out the center of the bread.  Toast both sides of center in a frying pan and give to your child to eat while they wait for the main course!

Then place the gutted bread on the frying pan and crack an egg in the hole.  Toast and flip to toast the other side.

I hope I explained that okay, and for those of you who have made this, what do you call it?  I have heard it called many different names, but  I stuck with this name because it is very popular with my children.  Of course, I don't only make one...my kiddos (and myself) usually eat one to three of these babies!

Hope you all have a blessed morning,

Rossie

I like "Toads in a hole"...we call it "eye of the camel" (I am really not sure why LOL). My DH in particular loves this. He grew up eating soft boiled eggs with toast (Being Dutch, they always used egg cups, but I decided the "eye of the camel" was close enough!).

Have a great day, Rossie!

We call them birds in a nest at our house. I do not think that I have ever made them for Emma. Maybe we will have them tomorrow.

We call it "a popeye egg" lol not sure why tho.
One of my goals for this year is the read the entire bible using a guide that tells you what to read on each day. I often just open and read a chapter or two and move on. I realized that I was doing it just for the sake of saying that I had did it. Thats not what I nor God wants of me. I started on Tuesday and have been reading everyday starting with Gen. I know it has only been three days but I have learned so much. Things that were just words now have meaning to me. Its wonderful, Im seeing it all in a different way. I find myslef reading past where I am to stop for the day. I love it. My number one goal is to do THIS one.
Have a great day my friend.

We may have those for breakfast today, I had forgotten all about them! That is the name we used we used to make them, but I found another recipe that uses that name on Hillbillyhousewife.com...

Hugs,
Lisa
