Papa!

{ 11:56, Thursday, August 17, 2006 } { Posted in All about us } { 5 comments } { Link }

This is "Papa" in our family.  We have had the pleasure of having him live with us for 8 months.  He was diagnosed with 4 types of cancer, and was unable to live alone.  When he first came to stay I was nervous because I have 4 children, one still nursing and one just home after a 1 month stay in the hospital.  Jean, my FIL had a large tumor removed in which I, the queasy, dizzy, fainting lady, would have to undress, flush, and redress the gaping 8x4 inch hole all by myself...everyday!!  On top of that I had to give him shots in his stomach for a blood clot he developed (gagging).   Okay, now that I look at it...seriously, it was totally God, I would never in my right mind ever agree to all of this!  But, we made a great team, and I was unexpectedly blessed beyond measure!

Well, after 8 months of intense chemo and radiation...he did not lose one of the few hairs left on his head!!!  He is now CANCER FREE!!!!  God is sooo good, and what I thought would be a burden was a blessing.  We all cried the day he moved back in to his little house.

God is so good, and is still in the business of miracles!  This one is for you Jean.

This is Jean and my baby Isabelle, they formed a very special bond while he was was with us!

Oh this is all just wonderful Rossie! God is so good. Yes He was with you and Papa too. I'm so glad you shared this. What a priceless picture of your adorable little girl and him together. God bless you and your family and Papa.

How wonderful you are to have cared for him,I think God put us here to serve others and you are doing that, for sure.I am still smiling, knowing that Jean is cancer free.

A Helping Hand

Not only did you help him with the meds and such, but God gave him reason to continue on fighting. He had that special bond with his grandkids and the love of his children. How awesome it is for one to see this while going through life altering medical treatments.

While you helped Him, I can see that He too was a light in your life.

God just knows what we need and when we need it. As you said, something that you thought would be added burden ended up being a life changing experience gaining much love for one another. Isn't that afterall, what family is?

May God bless you all and keep you safe and healthy.

Love in Christ,

~Rebekah~

I am always so encouraged to hear a great testimony like this.

I am glad you were able to be a blessing to one another and what a terrific example for your kids!

With so many people losing the battle with cancer today, it is wonderful to hear that someone you love beat it. My mom beat it 3 times more that 10 years ago. God is so good!!!!
