A slave to the schedule...

{ 09:35, Monday, July 24, 2006 } { Posted in Parenting and Children } { 8 comments } { Link }

Yes, I am guilty as charged, but the good Lord is dealing with me in this area!  He has been faithfully using my DS3 to challenge me in this area, and teaching me to plan for flexibility.  Daily I am like a drill sergeant...chores, breakfast, table time...I even schedule my fun time with the children.  This is good and it works for our family, however, I have been struggling in the area of being flexible.  I want to be in such a place of maintainence that I am able to steer a little off my schedule to allow chat time when I have visitors, and when something like my DS3 swallowing a battery comes up, I am able to adjust!  You heard correctly...Ezra swallowed a battery last night and I have been in the Doctor's office aaaaalllllllllllllllll day long!  Bye Bye schedule...hello flexability!  This child, is constantly furthering my flexability, and that dreaded word "patience"!!!  So in this entry, I am asking you for your prayers, not only that the battery would pass on it's own, and that I would be able to see it without too much "digging" UGH...but also that I would be more flexible

Blessings my friends!!

Kids do the strangest things, don't they?

I will pray that everything comes out all right...I am sorry you have to check. It's a dirty business.

Take care,

Patti

My sweet little grandson does not need another battery. He has enough energy!!!! He can really charge things up!!!
I think that everyone should spend at least a week with my daughter and her family. She is the most wonderful wife and mother and can she run a household!
I always thought that we will hear our Lord say 'Well done good and faithful servant.' when we get to heaven but I hear it everytime my daughter opens her heart, home and yes even her mouth. Love ya honey! I am sooooooo proud of you. MAMA

To my Mama...

I was reading your comment Mama and I was thinking this lady must have a neat daughter, and they must have a very special relationship, then I realized it was you!!! Were you really talking about me??? Thankyou so much, but as you know I'm a product of my rasin'! You have taught me what I know, thankyou for serving the Lord, and instilling that in me! And I thank God for His everyday mercy when it comes to parenting my children and running a household! I love you mom!!

Stopped by to say hello and OH MY!! My dd would do stuff like that all the time. I felt like I was on the phone with dr's and poison control all the time. It does try one's paitience. I'll be praying for you and your Ezra.
On the list thing and not being flexible. I wish I was more like you. I am the opposite. TOO flexible.
Well have a nice day!

It must have something to do with being the third child. My third, Timmy, is always into something. He just looks at things and I automatically say "no, Timmy". lol. Hope everything comes out ok, Oh, the joys of motherhood. Praying for your little guy!
Please update us on how he's doing.

how did it turn out? Did the battery pass yet? How cool that the post you commented on my blog was the one about my parents and here in your comments your mother and you are talking along the same lines! We are truely blessed with our mamas!

A former pastor used to preach alot about what he called "joyful flexibility". We often have no choice but to be flexible. Ah, but to be joyful in it, that is an act of our will.
I don't always succeed at this either. But I am learning.
