Homestead Haven Beginnings

My day...

Well my day has been a little wierd so far.  We were supposed to go swimming today, but my son Abraham started throwing up, I think he has low blood sugar, because as soon as I gave him toast and milk he was just fine.  He has a lot of crazy things going on since his surgery in October.  Hopefully it smoothes out eventually.

I am going to clean out the fridge today, since tomorrow is my big grocery day, and I need to plan out my 2 week menu.  I have already mopped the floors and done 2 loads of laundry, so I am on a roll, and gonna keep going while I still have steam!!

My quote for the day comes from my DD6...if you don't know we just got a puppy, and everyone is very protective of her.  I was in the kitchen when I heard the children discussing whom Lucy (the dog) belonged to, and I heard my daughter sigh... and say,"well she is mom and daddy's now, but when they die, I get the dog"  Ugh...they are already anticipating my death!!!

Rossie - yes, they start young planning what they are going to get!!! My daughter's in-laws tell the children to put a sticker on the things they want (out of site) when the parents die - my DD22 asked the other day - if her and my DD14 could start taggin things in my house!!!

Thank you for your encouraging comment on my blog that my posts have spoken to your heart. You blessed me by letting me know.
With regard to your profile, you said you are from Montana. So am I!! Although I now live in the Boise, Idaho, area, I was raised in Montana (not born there--I am a Navy baby). I graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell, and my parents still live in Kila, which is about 13 miles west of Kalispell. I am actually going up for a visit next Saturday. I haven't been there since 1999, because my parents usually come to visit us down here. We thought it was about time for us to head up there.
Also, you said in your profile you felt you were born in the wrong era. How often I think that very same thing!! I know God doesn't make mistakes, but...I love the pioneer times....I think that is because life was simpler back then. Not easier, because it was hard, but it was certainly simpler than our lives now.
And with regard to your post, I need to clean out my refrigerator too. It's so much nicer to put food into a nice clean frig.
