A teenage treasure hunt!

Pattisea asked if the treasure hunt idea would work for teens...My mom was so creative!  I think it was Christmas (I will have to ask her) she sent us on a treasure hunt.  We went all over town, collecting items, and clues, and at the end of the hunt, we had new bikes waiting for us!

I was thinking you could down grade that, and send them on a large scale treasure hunt, all over the farm or better yet if you live in town, all over town!  How fun would that be???  They could collect all your goods or whatever, and end at the ice cream shop or something.  You could give them an envelope labled for each stop to open so they can get the clue to the next stop!

I don't know, but that sounds like fun to me.  My mom did something similar for me on my 25th or 26th birthday...she sent me to the mall to get my nails done, and there awaited my clue for the next stop... and so fourth until I ended at the spa for a massage. I never had a massage before, and I was pregnant at the time...it was wonderful!!!!

Hi!

Ok, I've never been to your blog, either! But I like it already! :)
When I was a teen, I would put together "Scavenger Hunts" for my brothers and their friends. For much younger siblings, they would all work together, following one clue to the next. When they were teens, I would put together two seperate "trails" and two groups would race to the same ending. The older they got, the more tricky and criptic the clue.
Once something like this was done for my class at church, we were all college kids. We drove around with a sheet of paper with places on it, collecting items -like, a to-go menu from a restruant- to prove we had been there. Alas, our Sunday school teacher made an error in assuming each street marked a mile, whereas my dh, who had been a runner and ran the area, knew it wasn't a mile marker, -but most of the kids didn't know that and ended up at a, uh, BAD store which sells frilly underthings. The only person who actually returned w/ something was the SS teacher's 23-yr old son (!!) who grabbed a business card to embarass his dad. It worked. I never laughed so hard or turned so red! :)
Ok, this is way too long! ;)

Wonderful

You have such a creative mind! I think that is sucha fun idea. I'll have to give it some thought to adapt to our particular teens and situations.

Thanks for the ideas.
