Homestead Haven Beginnings

My summer TO DO list:

{ 10:12, Friday, June 9, 2006 } { Posted in TO DO Lists } { 5 comments } { Link }

1.  Organize the garage (I'm using the Emilie Barnes method)

2.  Camping theme for summer planned out.  Every summer I have a theme for the kids and myself.  Last year it was, "Bugs in the Garden."  We learned all about bugs and gardening.  This year I thought camping would be fun.  I grew up camping, but we have yet to take our kiddos.  So we will first learn saftey (purchase items need for med. kit), fishing, about equipment, learn to pitch a tent etc... we will "practice in the backyard, and then end the summer with a real camping trip.  Hopefully it will turn out as planned!

3.  Build a picnic table for backyard.

4.  Purchase books need for school next year.  Now I am homeschooling 2 of my kids...I'm very excited!

5.  Help DH at the shop more, and clean up extra office so the kids have a room while we are there.

6.  Purchase wheat grinder so that I can begin grinding my own.

7.  Begin knitting my scarves and purses for christmas gifts.  (Already have christmas on the brain)

8.  My wall washing in the house.

I can't think of anymore at the moment, but I will probably add more as the summer progresses.  I love summer!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

I love lists

{ 11:12, Friday, June 9, 2006 } { Posted by Pattisea }
I am a list maker, so I am always pleased to meet others who like them.

I am curious about the Emilie Barnes method of Garage Organization. What is that? My garage is tragic! I keep meaning to do some de-cluittering but haven't gotten around to it.

I had to laugh about the Christmas thinking. I, too, make my own gifts and everyone things I'm odd for planning gifts in July! I knit, too! I tend to make socks, mittens and hats, but I am always meaning to make something else!

Good luck with the list and I pray your summer is everything you planned!

Patti

PS - Thanks for the encouraging words you left on my blog! It is good to remember to be faithful in the little things!

What Fun

Oh, I love lists and I just love, love, love themes! I did a special "Camp Home Sweet Home" for my youngest DD one year when her older sis went away to camp for a week . . . . what fun. We are studing (and hoping to spend some time pretending to be) Pioneers this summer. Hope you share some of what ya'll will be doing with your theme!
