In case you were wondering, I am still here.  I have been keeping myself busy with  projects other than blogging.  I have a new found interest in piecing quilts!  I started piecing a quilt together before I went on vacation & just finished it today.  So it took me about 1 month from start to finish.  I started out trying to machine quilt it but that was almost impossible to keep all the layers together & shove the whole bulky thing into my sewing machine.  I wasn't about to quilt it by hand either.  I hand stitched the one that is currently on my bed and it only took me about 4 years to finish it.  At that rate we would be froze to death if I actually needed it for warmth!  Thank goodness for department stores!  So I ended up just knotting the whole thing along with two shams to match.  The shams are quilted but I also knotted them after I realized that machine quilting this quilt wasn't going to work.  I really like how it came out.  Ashley, my oldest DD, wants it for when she's grown.  WOW!  Was that a shocker to hear!  Never expected to hear that!  So I think that I will put it away until we purchase a hope chest for her and start filling it up with different things that she will need when she is grown.  She will be 16 next year so it won't be long now!

I'm back..LOL although I have been silently reading your blog for months. Just updated mine incase your interested.
That quilt is absolutely beautiful! You have such a sewing talent, I can't in my wildest dreams ever accomplish something so beautiful. You are an inspiration to many. Although I have absolutely no talent for sewing what so ever I do envy you. It is beautiful, what a blessing to your daughter. Lucky her.
