Sewing help needed....quickly!!!

UPDATE

Okay I finally figured it out.  I needed to get some quick advice because DD#1 was supposed to be wearing it to church on Sunday morning.  She is taking our new beginner's class at church in preparation for baptism.!!!

I guess there is such a thing as "already rounded lace" (?) because I was searching through my enormous collection of crafting supplies and found some lace that my mom gave me awhile back.  IT WAS PERFECT!  It was like it was already rounded so that when I placed it on the middle piece of lace it fit perfectly.  No trying to make it turn or anything.  The covering is very nice.  I must say that it actually looks like I bought it from someone who knows what they are doing!!!  YAY!

Ashley is happy with it and so am I.  Now to make a few more!

Thanks Sister Lori for the advice.  I will remember that tip for any projects that I'm having trouble with in the future.

*************************************************

Can someone PLEASE tell me how in the world do you sew up a prayer covering & still keep it flat?

My oldest daughter wants to wear a small, flat, doily type covering but everytime I try to sew lace around the outside edges it turns into a miniature bowl!

I tried serging the edges and then sewing the lace on by hand.  That did make it a little less bowl-y than when I tried to use the sewing machine but it still doesn't iron flat.

Is there a talent to this?

I know that this is possible because many girls at church have them but HOW?

PLEASE HELP!

Blessings,

Blessings Sister Miki!
Either the bobbin tension on your machine is too tight or your foot is too hard. Loosen either just slightly and the fabric should lay down and remain flatter:)
Hope this helps.
God be with thee!
