I have cherry tomatoes.....

My cherry tomato plants are finally producing. They taste soooo good. Still no big maters yet. But I ate another one at my dad's the other evening.  It sure has been rather cool here in Ohio.  Don't even need air conditioning in the evenings.  We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow.  My garden will love that.  I want to learn to can. But I have nobody left in my family that knows how. I think I'm going to buy me a few books on it.  I dont have any accessories either.  Maybe next year.

Are groceries getting more expensive in your neck of the woods? They sure are here. I think it was last week I paid almost 4.00 for a gallon of milk, this week the half gallons are on sale for 1.33. That is one relief. But it seems with each passing week my grocery bill goes up. It's just the two of us, no children.  But we're still on a tight budget. I dont bake my own bread, which is something I should start doing. It just seems like you can't buy a good loaf of bread anymore and it is awfully expensive. Plus homemade just tastes better. We've cut out eating out unless its once in a blue moon.  What I normally do is shop at the grocery store one day at the beginning of the month and get most of everything we'll need. I menu plan by the month. Then I'll go to the grocery once a week to get bread, milk and anything we run out of.  But it still seems like each trip I spend more money.

Speaking of menu plan, here is mine for this week:

Monday--we had BBq biscuit cups and chicken flavored rice a roni.

Tuesday-Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn

Wednesday-steak, fried potatoes, salad

Thursday-Bean and Weiner Casserole, mac and cheese

Friday-breakfast for dinner--French Vanilla Toast, sausage patties

Saturday-Southwestern Chicken and Tater tots

Sunday-Corndog muffins, glazed carrots, baked beans

Thanks for stopping by ya'all. Have a good day!!

Hi, good for you on the cherry tomatoes. My dad has yellow pear tomatoes on the plants I started for him for his birthday. Those to me are the cat's meow :)

Groceries here are getting out of control. I'm on a very strict budget too and let me tell ya - Uff da! My daughter doesn't understand the words "making it last" so am having a hard time preparing for winter. Milk isn't $4 yet but getting close.

Your menu sounds delish! I'm coming to your house LOL. I love breakfast food for dinner too.

YES! Groceries are rising in cost in my area as well. Quite honestly the cost of feeding our selves well is getting to the point of almost being cripling to our already tight budget. Every item in our stores has gone up from the fresh items to the processed foods. I thank the Lord each day that I am able to put meals on the table for my family because I know there are people out there who are less well off than we are and they must be struggling horribly to feed themselves and pay the bills.
