I have been so crazy busy that I haven't had much time for the computer but I figured I would stop by and show you what I have been up to. I have taken on the task of re-decorating my house. Painting, border and all that jazz. My husband and I have also been working on replacing parts of the roof before winter. I finally ripped up the nasty tile in my bathrooms and replaced it!!! HALLELUJAH I was so sick of that 10 cents a piece tile that was chipping and looked so dirty. I have good tile now PRAISE GOD!!! I ripped the pedestal sink out too! You cannot have a pedestal sink with a 8 member family. My mother and I found a good cabinet sink at a garage sale and my husband installed it. I have also been working on restoring my old wood stove and hopefully it will be in the house by next weekend. If so, pics to come. Although you have seen pics of my home, I figured it would be fun to do a before and after. There was not a lot of sunlight today so my new pictures are not very bright. http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?&mode=fromsite&collid=597135051103.605238125503.1194922874294&conn_speed=1 Herbalife...Losing Weight a Healthy Way?? My mom has been looking for home based business for her website and she came across a product called Herbalife. Considering she is a Christian woman, she did not want to sell a product without trying it and seeing if it really works or not before trying to sell it to others. Well we have been on it for two days now and my husband has lost 8 pounds, I have lost 5 pounds and my mother has lost 3 pounds. I am just amazed. It follows the guidelines of something like Slim Fast where you drink two shakes a day with one healthy meal a day. The great thing about it is that it is completely natural with vitamins, minerals and herbs. Very low in sugar! With the protein powder, you stay fuller and don't feel the need to eat. The vitamins and cell activator that coincides with it also helps you lose weight and feel great. This is an amazing product. My mother is using the family for her guinea pigs for a month so I will definitely update in a month. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to lose weight and stay healthy at the same time. It also comes with plans for maintaining weight and gaining weight.
Trip to Lancaster County, Pa...Amish Country

My mother and I have always wanted to go on a vacation, just me and her. We finally got our chance when she purchased a vehicle from New Jersey and we had to go pick it up. We were thrilled! As we were making plans for the trip, we realized that we would be going through Lancaster County, Pa. Now mind you, I have read about this place in numerous books...Beverly Lewis, Wanda Brunstetter, etc. Now was my chance to see all the places I read about. My mother and I decided to stay at a farm bed and breakfast. I got to milk a cow, feed a baby calf, pet different animals, and have my first taste of milk right out of a cow during breakfast. After we left the farm, we ventured out on a 2 or 3 mile buggy ride in Bird in Hand. A lot of scenic pictures were taken during this ride. Shortly after, we rode to a near by farm that sold homemade rootbeer. Let me tell you (this is just my opinion), It smells and taste just like a beer! Further down the road we stopped at the Bird in Hand Farmers Market where we picked out our souvenirs. We stopped for lunch after shopping at the Bird in Hand Family Inn and Restaurant. The place was awesome with a little Noah's Ark buffet for children (got a pic) but the food was horrible. I do not recommend it. Our last stop on the trip was a tour of a old time Amish house and once upon a time fully functional farm. Oh my! It was so awesome. My mom and I did not want to leave. I took so many pictures. I hope you enjoy all of them! For those of you who love old things...I tried to get as many pictures of the kitchen items and old tools as possible. This farm was complete with a house, a summer kitchen (my mom and I fell in love), a tobacco shed, a blacksmith shop, barns, a school house, an outside food dryer, a smokehouse, a dairy barn and so much more. Oh how I would have loved to have ran that farm. Talk about self-sufficient. I would never even go into town! Go get a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy my vacation! It is about 6 minutes long, with some music. Make sure you full size it. s133.photobucket.com/albums/q79/mitchellmom/ Been A LONG Time!

It has been so long since I have written on here that I hardly know where to begin. Shortly after my last post, my family and I went on vacation to see my best friend, Tracy, in Missouri. I missed her sooo much and it was great to visit. It was a little cramped having my family of seven plus our dog, her family of five and her cat in her small double wide trailer. We were cozy though! Tracy and I enjoyed cooking together and long walks with plenty of heart to hearts by ourselves. I miss her so much already. My children were not ready to leave as they thoroughly enjoyed the country...she lives in the middle of nowhere land and I love it. My children helped Eric (my best friend's husband) chop wood almost everyday and my son couldn't wait until he got to the wood pile. Of course in the end it it is always good to be home. When we returned home, that was the end of my husband's winter off and he returned back to work. Shortly after, I decided to get a job. I took a job that still allowed me the time home that was needed and that would get me some good money for the three days that I worked. I felt I needed some time outside of the home and we definitely need the money to get caught up on some bills. For the most part, I enjoy my job. We got our garden in and it has been growing great! Since we only have a small backyard and could only have a small garden, we put in a larger garden at my father in laws. We run over there every other day to soak it real good with water. My husband stops by after work to water it sometimes to save on gas. I have also been trying to focus and discipline myself on healthier food for my family. I have been purchasing food from the farmers market and found a place to order organic meat. I plan to discipline myself on the canning issues too. I have canned some strawberry preserves and pickled watermelon rind. I cannot wait until my green beans take off as this is my favorite thing from my garden. I have also been purchasing my eggs from local Amish farmers. I am trying to stay out of the store as much as possible. I have been reading a lot of canning books and a book by Elizabeth George called Beautiful in God's Eyes...The Treasures of the Proverbs 31 Woman. WONDERFUL!!! Just absolutely love it. I highly recommend this book to any woman who is trying to model herself after the Proverbs 31 woman. Many blessings to you all! My Children's Blog

I just finished watching this movie and it was AWESOME!!! And of course
I had to jump on his website to get any information available on his
methods of teaching. In the movie he turns learning into songs and he
has a CD available that I will be purchasing (even though I cannot
stand rap). But he developed this way of teaching while in Harlem so
what can you expect.
I am even seriously considering visiting the school to learn more about
the teaching methods that he discusses in the bonus materials of the
DVD. He talks about having a literal bank in the school, a bowling
alley (for fractions) and so much more. I am just amazed!Rent the movie! Check out the website. www.ronclarkacademy.com A Productive Two Days

I saw this questionnaire on another blog and thought I would fill it out myself. After all, I figure these are good ways to get to know one another. 1) Do you love your spouse? Always and forever! 2) How did you meet your spouse? We always joke it was a parent trap as our girls were best friends and we ended up married. 3) How long did you date before you were married? Around 8 months. 4) How many times did you break up before you were married? None 5) How many times a month do you fight? Everyday! Just kidding. We lovingly bicker. My mom always says we keep her in a stitch We have had about three major fights since we have been together (4 years)6) What side of the bed do you sleep on? The left 7) Who is the money maker? My hubby 8) What kind of car do you drive? We own a van (for church and family traveling), a truck (for working and hauling), a small car (for hubby to travel to work-good on gas) and a motorcycle for leisure (this is mine and hubby’s alone time together). I know it sounds ridiculous and the insurance is outrageous. 9) Do you rent or own a house/apt? Own a house. 10) How many square foot is your house/apt? I have no idea. It is a decent size and houses 8 people, 1 dog, and 2 cats comfortably. 11) What date and year were you married and where? November 8, 2003 in our living room by my aunt who is a retired pastor. 12) Do you have pets? 1 dog, 2 cats 13) Do you have a baby? Nope my youngest is almost 8 praise God! 14) Who pays the bills physically? I do. My husband doesn’t like to do it. 15) What kind of car does your spouse drive? Ford I am a chevy girl!16) What does your spouse do for a living? He works in the asphalt business as a driver/laborer. He loves it. I don’t particularly like it as there is no family outings in the summer but as long as he is happy that is all that matters. 17) How many places have you lived as a married couple? Three 18) How many kids do you want? As many as we have (5). 19) Where do you both love to vacation? In the woods somewhere. Away from people! 20) What is your favorite place to eat out? China buffet. My hubby got me hooked on Chinese food. 21) What is a great date? Dinner and movie in the winter. Motorcycle ride in the country during warmer months. 22) Who makes the decisions? We discuss things together but the end result is my husband‘s decision. 23) Who mows the lawn? When we had a riding lawn mower, my husband did. Now that we have a smaller yard, our oldest son has that responsibility. 25) Who's family do you see the most? Both about the same. Of course my mother lives with us! 26) How many nieces and nephews do you have? I think 11 27) Do you like being married? Yes!! It is one of the greatest gifts from our Heavenly Father. { Last Page } { Page 1 of 5 } { Next Page } |
