Growing in Grace-Living Life One Day at a Time

Good Morning

Posted on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 06:58

What a chilly morning to wake up to.Looking outside the fog is everywhere and it makes me just want to snuggle up on the couch with an afghan this morning.I guess it is supposed to warm up later today though.I am looking forward to that.I hope to get out in the yard after school is done today. We have been studying the planets together.Apologia has some of the best curriculum for science.I love it because it is all creation based with no evolution theory at all.I mean, who really believes we were formed from a big boom,or came from a monkey for heavens sake?I thank God for truth of His word.

I have been in the yardsale spirit here lately. We have been going about every weekend to try and find things our home needs. My sweet little one Kayti found several summer things last Saturday.I was relieved, since I knew she needed them so badly.I hate to spend money for things that I know I am able to get at a yardsale for a good price.Especially when I know my kids are growing fast and wont be in the stuff for long.

I found several needed household and camp items for nearly nothing.I found for our camper a mr.coffee coffee maker for 2 bucks and seven throw rugs for a dollar.I gave my sister in law Missy half of them for her camper, since I had way too many just for mine.

I have also been into the gardening mode.A friend gave me several new plant starts for my memory garden to help fill it in.My oldest son also bought me some sweet william for mothers day and lavendar. Both of these are perennials and will return every year.I love the plants that return, but I also think some annuals are pretty and worth buying and saving the seeds from for next year.I bought a whole flat of marigolds for 6 dollars at a yardsale and planted them in a new garden I made by my memory garden.Marigolds were one of my moms favorite flowers,so I filled my memory garden with a bunch. When my mom was alive I never shared her love for flowers and plants.I dont know, maybe I was too busy with the kids being little,or my career at the time,I dont know.I am glad to say now that she passed a love for beauty down to me and I am grateful to her for that.

Well,I am off to get some work done around here before I get the kids up.I love the quiteness of the morning and the peace God brings in it.

Till later,

Love and hugs,

Rachel

I like going to yard sales too. Hopefully this Saturday I'll have the time.

Apologia

I also used Apologia for homeschooling. Last year I taught at a Christian school and the senoirs used the Advanced biology. After entering LPN school she said that she was just reviewing what she had already learned, so it really is a college class just as Mr. Wiley says.
