Decluttering

Isnt decluttering a constant everyday job? I try to declutter something daily so as everything dosent get backed up on me too much. With being a homeschool mom it seems things get backed up quite easily. There is always tons of papers, tons of books and no where to put them all.If you have lots of space you are very blessed. We live in a single wide home with very limited space and it is not always easy to make extra space happen.I have had to learn to be creative in how I make space.I have also learned that if I am going to school my kids then I need to relax on how spotless my home really is.Do I want a museum type home where it looks like nothing ever gets touched,or the people here never move?Or do I want a home that is lived in,a little{sometimes a lot}messy at times, but lived and loved in?

Well,I opt for the loved and lived in home. Our home is a unique part of our personality of everyone that lives here.

Here are some tips from kindred spirit on clutter control.Go to yahoo groups to find this group to recieve daily help from her.

More Clutter Control

Plan to periodically purge your belongings. Once a year is good. Twice a year is better. Or set up a schedule of regular mini household purges. Scheduling suggestions:

January: Files
May: Storage Areas
June: Winter clothing
July: Children’s clothing
October: Summer clothing
November/December: Toys and household items

I saw a quote from someone this week that is sooo true. I think it was by Phyllis Diller. It said: "Cleaning house with small children around is like shoveling a driveway while it's still snowing." Aren't you glad when they get a little older and you don't have to work as hard to keep the place straightened?

Have a great day!

Enjoy being at home.

This is one of my new goals, is to declutter a litte every day, so I have added about 15 minutes to the cleaning time I spend on the house. I clean 1-2 rooms per day and do the decluttering in those rooms first if needed.

Thanks for the inspiration!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

I am on the pantry today, and I agree it is an ongoing job. It seems to be in my nature to collect things.

Then I have to de-clutter and get rid of thme again LOL

Hi Rachel,
Sorry, I seemed to have posted on another post by mistake. I was wondering if you know the yahoo group name you mentioned about decluttering? Thank you.
