Organizing?

Posted in Homelife

I'm not much of an organizer, well, I don't keep things that way-I can usually get them organized, just don't seem to keep it that way.  But, I'm finding that the bigger the house, the more land, the more pets, chores, responsibilities, and children you have the more you need to be organized just to stay sane.  I'm getting there.  I try to plan menus but some days its just a lot to do.  How to those type A personalities manage???

Me, I have one goal for the day, I'm trying to get all the laundry washed, sorted, and folded and put away, except for what we're wearing.  As of right now, one load should do it for the wash, two to dry, and five to fold and put away (backed up yesterday).  Sigh, always something.  Only problem is we have to head off in about an hour.  And I can't think of what to make for dinner - better get off the computer and get moving.

On a bright note, I got a battery so next time I have enough time to sit un-interrupted on the computer I'll get some pictures of Tiger with his new haircut (my baby's all grown!). :)

Wednesday 1 October 2008 - the laundry

I had to laugh about your laundry dilemma Hope it does get all caught up for you !!!
Here we are in the north and you in the south and we still have laundry problems...could it be universal??lol
By the way I have never been to Alaska but have lived not to far from it and the bugs are thick same as this area in northwestern Britsh Columbia~mosquitoes, blackflies, gnats, no-see-ems, sandflies and so forth but although thick and annoying they are not poisonous. Have a fun day!

Well, today was one of those stick everything in a drawer and close it type days. LMSO I have someone coming over to see the house for an appraisal, and we wanted the house to look decent. LOL (We are refinancing) But next week I am going to have to drag all those stuffed drawer items and get back to decluttering!!! UGH!!!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

Some unsolicited advice from a type A kinda person :)

Plan your meals for the month and stick to it, you don't have to think about what to fix each day and shopping is easier. It also curtails the constant, "What's for dinner?"

Only do 1 to 2 loads of laundry a day and fold the pieces as you take them off the line or out of the dryer. It seems like a pain but it will keep things from piling up and getting out of control. You could also enlist your oldest in folding his own clothes, once less thing you have to do.

Wednesday 1 October 2008 - Type A. :)

Oh, I plan menus (by the month) and I mostly stick to it. Just have had a hard time doing it since we moved. I only just got my kitchen put together last week b/c there were so many things wrong with it we had to fix it first. Now I'm waiting for my beef.

The real problem with food is we do so much from scratch it takes a lot of time but it's something that's important to us so we let the laundry pile up. :)

Had to run and pick up milk this morning and it always takes all day, so no laundry finished today, but we're not leaving the house again until Sunday if I have anything to say about it so... it will get done! :)
