Part of raising kids on a "farmette" (what a silly word-I saw it used in real estate to describe a small farm. I'll stick to Hobby Farm). Starting over... Part of raising kids on a hobby farm is raising them to appreciate work as a gift - part of the process of raising your own food. If you can appreciate the work as a gift you can appreciate the food as a gift too. Teaching the Wild Bunch how to do their chores has it's rewards. Witness, Butch helping bring water - such a big little six yr old! Teaching the Wild Bunch how to do chores can be a chore though. Here's all three outlaws wrangling ducks. Almost makes you feel sorry for the ducks. Here's Sundance trying to catch them after they tried to "teach" the ducks to use the ramp - note: it didn't work Don't chase them too much outlaws! They'll get tough meat that way! Kindness counts with dinner ducks! |
