About Me

We are: MamaWolf, Mr. Top Gun, Butch, Sundance, & Speedy. We currently rent 9 acres about 2 miles from the Manassas (that's what they call Bull Run down here in the south) Battlefield. We're learning about bugs, chickens, bugs, compost, bugs, cattle (maybe), bugs, gardening, bugs, greenhouses, bugs, old houses, bugs, and life in Virginia. Some day this (by then) not-so-young pack will move north - God willing - to Alaska (fewer bugs - I'd take just about anywhere North - or here, with a big can of raid), our (hopefully) home for the rest of this time in this the Left hand kingdom (the right hand kingdom being in heaven with God). We are Quia Confessional Lutherans (that means that we believe the Lutheran confessions Because they accurately teach scripture), "crunchy" (it seems like good stewardship to us), and Classical (I need to think better, so I'm forcing the family to join me) unschooling (that means that frequently I just let it go and they learn anyway) homeschoolers (I'm greedy about my children, I don't want to share them with some stranger for the best part of their day!).

A place for everthing and every dog in it's place

Well, I think the dogs are listening, sort of.  I need to get the shock collar and do some real training.  But, the real training is of the children.  Dogs, not on a leash belong inside.  Kids with no shoes belong inside.  Doors belong shut.  Dogs not on leash when doors are open to bring kids not in shoes back inside, do not stay where they belong!   Thankfully it was only one and he was more interested in the chickens than running away!  So, Butch and Sundance grabbed his leash and chased Caruso around the yard.  Then they got smart and started herding him.  That worked.  They're so happy they caught them "all by myself!"  Good dog! ;)  I'm just glad that he loves the kids as much as they love him! 
Now to teach that baby of mine to tie his own shoes! ;)

You are ahead of me if you are making breakfast at 9 a.m. We are still working on it at 10 a.m.! Working to change that for the school year! Wish me luck....
