September we ended our months long fight with Embarq (used to be Sprint) - they had been upping our bill every month and not fixing it. In Sept we finally got fed up and canceled the phone and internet services. We didn't have the ability to get someone else on base so... no internet at home until we moved. We had big intentions of driving over to the library where we could log on... happened maybe twice. October was fun filled as we went to San Diego and hit Legoland (two days), Sea World, SD Zoo, and the beach! The Wild Bunch loved it! Mr Top Gun loved it! I was exhausted but, as we had free DSL in our hotel, I too loved it! In November Butch turned 6 and we found out that we, finally, would get to leave the desert for nice, green, crowded, Virginia (but we're so far out that we don't have to worry too much about the crowds)! In December the exchange student I'd been a liaison for had some rather insurmountable difficulties with her first host family. So, on Christmas Eve we acquired a daughter from Brazil! I'll call her Chica (which is Spanish I think and of course, they speak Portuguese in Brazil but... Chica sounds more interesting than The Girl). It sure changes the house to add another kid already grown! But, it was a great 6 months! In Jan we were mostly adapting to having a teenage daughter in the house and then we were driving to Utah to show her some snow! Must get to bed - have some laundry to fold first I think.
