Getting back online

Bear with me here, it takes time to get back to normal (normal? What is normal?). I'm trying to keep the house moving toward unpacked. I'm trying to assimilate a cat, four chickens (four more on Sunday) and two dogs. Of course, the really strong temptation is to just play online so I have to limit myself to breakfast coffee time! Going backwards - our house here is great! It is old (built in 1870) so it has interesting quirks. We have nine acres to play on and we've been working to put in some gardens. We bought 4 chickens at the farmer's market last week and we're going to get 4 more. Then we'll have eggs! We rescued a kitten this week - and I'm still rescuing him from the children now. :) He's a good little guy though and really puts up with them. :) We're rescuing two dogs this afternoon and they too are really great and really love people. The boys met them yesterday and really like them. I'll have pictures of all of our new family later - I have to head off to the homeschool convention this morning!!! So far we've got most of the kitchen organized (except for the drawers that were taken out for repair and never came back!) and the dining room- now if I could just get the books out!
