Love on my mind.......I have Websters definition of Love, I have Websters definition of Agapeo, I have posted a verse of Scripture, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, and in that Scripture have found for myself what I am *without* love / agapeo, and my last post, I found out the Biblical definition of agapeo / love is and what agapeo / love is not.Love is: Patient, Kind, Keeps no records of wrongs, Rejoices with Truth, Always Protects, Always Trusts, Always Hopes, Always Perseveres, and Never Fails. Love is NOT: Envious, Boastful, Proud, Rude, Self-Seeking, Easily Angered, and Delights in Evil. Pair this definition with: Matthew 22:36-40 36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." "Love the Lord, Your God". Love is: Patient, Kind, Keeps no records of wrongs, Rejoices in Truth, Always Protects, Always Trusts, Always Hopes, Always Perseveres, Never Fail. Be Patient. Wait on the Lord. Don't get frustrated when I don't have my answer to Prayer RIGHT NOW. Be Patient .He will move when He will move. Don't jump ahead. I will know when to speak, move, act, whatever........if I am patient. Kind. That seems odd. Of course I will be kind to the Lord? Keeps no records of wrongs. God cannot sin, so He can not do me wrong. I can manipulate in my mind to make it 'seem' like He has done me wrong, but that is satan. God cannot do me wrong. Rejoices in Truth. Cherish His Word. Rejoice in Who He is. He is Truth. He Wrote Truth. To show the Lord I love-agapeo Him, is to know His Word, and then Rejoice in His Word. Always Protects. Always Trust. When things don't make sense, like why did Michael have to die? Why did that boy get cancer, and die? I have to Trust Him, that He knows what He is doing, and it's for the greater good. When my kids grow up, take mates, move away.....I have to Trust Him that He is watching over them. He loves them more than I, so He will take care of them.......and I have to Trust Him. I have to Trust. In doing so, I am showing Him love-agapeo. Always Hopes. Oooooo. There are times when things just look 'hopeless'. The older I get the more I 'hope'. The more I hope, the more I Love-Agapeo the Lord. Always Perseveres. I can't give up. "Love your neighbor as yourself" Patient: There is a difference between patience and tolerance. I have a very hard time being 'patient' with others when it comes to things of the Lord. I am learning and growing though. Kind: Again, the older I get, I am getting better..... Keeps no Records of Wrongs. *Ouch* I guess that means I cannot moan about my childhood, blame those who raised me for flaws I have today. I cannot moan about my schooling experience and blame those who tried to educate me. I cannot moan about my young adult life and those who "let me down". I cannot moan about husbands, ex-husbands, mil's, fils, sils, none of them..I cannot moan about all of the injustices and abuse. This statement is pretty clear: Love-Agapaeo does not keep records of wrongs. So I cannot go thru the "JERK" rolladex in my mind and when someone's name pops up I pull a card that says "Yeah, well in 1996, she did _______" This is a tough one. Rejoices in Truth: What does this one look like? Always Protects: Always Trusts: Are you kidding? Trust another human?? What is that??
