You work in a restaurant, right?
Funny thing is, they are freaked out....but keep spending those dollars on luxury items.
Where's the logic?

See, I keep saying ...

He's preparing His people, and I keep getting a) laughed at and b) yelled at. Mostly by christians. One guy told me in Revelation it speaks of a City, so that is how the Redeemed are to live. And called me a lot of names for believing what I do. But hey.
I know some people who were totally isolated, not online, in a foreign country, but a civilised country where they had no need to 'go homestead' - just good christians, him a minister. Anyway, without any input from anyone else, they felt the Lord leading them to store up the harvest, put stuff up, learn some skills. When they came back for a visit and I was telling all about hsb and the movement back toward simplicity, they couldn't believe it! They thought it was just something the Lord led them to!
He is preparing His people. Better duck and run!

I have to say I am one of those "freaked out" people that stock up on things. I grow my own veggies and can them, and my own meat, we have chickens for eggs. I want to clarify that its not about being scared, its about being prepared for the time ahead, at time when money will be short, stores may be short of items.The Lord clearly spoke to my husband and I 3 years ago and said "Be Prepared"...at the time we didn't know what that meant, but it has become clear to us. I don't think its fair to say people that people who choose to take care of themselves, their families and are willing to help those with less are "scared" or "freaked out". I think we are smart, resourceful and just simply looking ahead and doing what the Lord called us to do. I honestly believe there is coming a day, very soon when more people will wish they had done what several of 'homesteaders' are doing. Being Prepared.

It is kinda like the whole Y2K scare. LOL Everyone was so worried, and some changed the way they lived, and didn't.

I am really not scared at all. Why?? Because my God takes care of all my needs!!! We do have a stocked pantry, we have a surplus of papergoods and other things for the house, and we have clothing to make it through the winter, and next summer for all members of the family.

How amazing that one family spent so much on one dinner, and yet are sitting there complaining about how others spend their money!!! WOW!!!
