Home made lip wax

I am an absolute wimp when it comes to pain so I don't use this homemade wax but the recipe is very good and I have made it and used it on friends. It has been passed down from generation to generation in this country I live in. This wax is quick and easy to make and you can wash it right off if you change your mind ;-)

You will need:
1 small but heavy based pot
1 old cotton sheet cut into small rectangles or strips the size of the area to be waxed
*1 Tablespoon lemon juice (concentrate from a bottle works just fine)
*5 Tablespoons sugar

Heat the sugar and lemon juice together until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts changing to a golden brown colour. Do not let it boil. It must not get as thick as toffee. When it has cooled enough to not burn your skin, it is ready to be used. Spread it on the part of the body to be waxed and put a strip of sheet over the wax. Pull it off. The cloth strips can be washed, dried and used over and over again.
It is definitely cheaper to do this yourself at home.

*Regarding the ingredients - using these proportions you can go all the way up to 1 cup of lemon juice to 5 cups of sugar and if you have a pot to spare you can keep the ready made mixture in your fridge (or a cool place) reheating it for use each time.
