Milk Cans and Coconut Oil

Posted By Glory Farm

I have a couple of questions maybe someone could answer.

First-I have two old milk cans and I would like to use them somehow.  I know I could paint them and then?????  They work good as decor, but is there anything more practical I could do with them?

Second-I only use olive oil and coconut oil when I cook and bake.  Well, I usually get my coconut oil from Wal-Mart and the price has jumped from $4.25 to $6. 98.  Has this happened all over?  Does anyone know of a place where I could order it for less and maybe get my wheat berries and other commodities?  We don't have a food buying co-op around here and I'd have to put in a $400 order and go all the way to Duluth for pick up if I used the only one I've found.

Well that's it.  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  We have a nice, hot day with thundershowers promised tonight.  We're just wrapping up a rummage sale.  It went pretty well.  It would have been nice to get rid of everything, but anything at all is better than nothing.

I am still here

Posted By sheryl

It has been a while since my last post.  Things have just been really busy on the farm.  My mom and stepdad are moving back here.  They are completely remodeling my grandpaws house.   We have been helping them do that.  There is a lot to do.  I have been trying to clean out a lot of stuff from my house.  Now I am getting a lot of stuff from papaws house.    I have been working all day on my kitchen reorganizing  my cabinets and getting rid of stuff  I just don`t use.  My poor house is a  wreck right now.   I am really behind on things.
We finally finished up softball Tuesday night.   Hannah made all-stars and it really has taken up a lot of time.   Practices everyday for three hours.  Some days they had practice in the morning and evening.    All that hard work for just one win.  Hannah did have fun.   Sammy is still playing baseball.  They started a special 7 and 8 year old team.  You have to be 9 to be able to play all-stars.   But we are not sure if there will be enough players.

My garden is doing really good.    I have been getting zucchini, crooked neck squash, and cucumbers so  far.   Oh, carrots and beets too.   I have canned 14 pints of pickled beets and 5 pints of cherries.   I am going to be canning carrots tomorrow.    My  corn and beans look really good.
I am going to be making curtains for my mom.   I am making them for the bathroom and kitchen.   She may also want me to make some for the bedrooms and living room.

I sold all my big chickens.   Just getting to costly to raise them.  I can`t believe the price of chick starter.  We are raising meat chickens.
Well there has been lots of others things going on.  I will catch up on them later.  We rented a movie and I am going to go watch it.

Happy 4th of July

Posted By Women Standing On the Word ~ Pure in Heart in Faith in God

Freedom

Celebrate the Real Freedom We Have in Jesus Today

Jesus Divine
4th of July Poem

We gather ‘round to celebrate

On Independence Day

Pay homage to our country

As the children run and play.

With barbeques and picnics

And fireworks in the air

The flag we own is proudly flown

To show how much we care.

The stars and stripes spell freedom

She waves upon the breeze

While bursts of colors can be seen

Above the towering trees.

This is all quite wonderful

We revel in delight

But God above in divine love

Has brought this day to light.

With just a stroke of liberty

A touch of His divine great hand

He gave democracy to us

And helped this country stand.

The stripes upon our stately flag

Were touched by His sweet grace

Each star of white that shines so bright

Reflects His divine loving face.

So as you turn to face the flag

For battles that were fought

Be filled with pride for those who died

And freedoms that were bought.

But don’t forget to thank the One

That gives the bright display

The reason why we paint the sky

On Independence Day

Praise the Lord my beloved is home!!

Posted By Messyjo in Family

Roger is home from the hospital and we are praising God that he is doing fine, he will need to go in for blood work and he also has to give himself an injection 2 times a day but at least he is home.  We are both so happy and also exhausted, we plan on taking a few days of doing nothing and then gradually getting back into a routine.

For those on the "boards" thanks for coming here and checking in on Roger, it means a lot to both of us, hopefully the board will be up and running again soon...

A big thank you and lots of hugs for those who were praying on our behalf, prayer is an amazing thing!!

Blessings, Joann

Tina's Priceless Treasures ~ Tuesdays Tea Time Ladies

Posted By Women Standing On the Word ~ Pure in Heart in Tina's Priceless Treasure Gatherings

Well Ladies, it is that time again and I am glad to say that we are back on track.

I am sorry it has taken me a few days to post.  I have been very busy with curriculum reviews for this year.

Many you knew that we post poned due to the delivery of one of our ladies having a baby. I am happy to say both are doing very well. At the time that we post poned we were only through the first week.

So, with knowing this we have decided to start at week 1, I know some of you were waiting on your book to come in and this will give each of us time to really get back on tract and in tune with the message of this book.  So if you are still interested you can still join us.

We will be starting fresh at Week 1.

I will meet back here every Tuesday or Wednesday to discuss the study with you. You will then have a chance to comment on the study and what the Lord is doing in your life. Please comment, I will print them out and share them with the Ladies here. We will also put you on our prayer list.  I look forward to FINALLY getting this started.

Please be sure to scroll through all my post and read all the ones that have to do with Tina's Priceless Treasures ~ that would be the Tuesday Tea time Ladies  and under the Tuesday Tea time Gatherings.

That way you are caught up and in full swing by this time next week.

I hope all is well and that this study becomes a true blessing to you all. I look forward to my next teatime post on July 8th or the 9th.

Tea and Honeycakes ~ Wednesday

Tea and Honeycakes

Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday

"I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul."
Psalm 31:7

Oh, Ladies if you only knew how that verse keeps ministering to my soul.  Today I had a sherrif at my door, he delivered a summons for me to be in court for truancy.  Now, I have one child at home, homeschooled and 3 in school. At first I thoughht it was the homeschooler, but come to find out it is for the 3 in school.

Now mind you last year our family was sick with the flu and my children brought lice home not once, but 5 times from their school.  So with the days they missed I am now consider truant.

Please keep me in prayer.  This could affect me being able to homeschool them this year.  My husband and I decided to take the children out of the school system and begin to homeschool them again.  So, I have already ordered their curriculum for the year as well as made up their lesson plans and have been ready to start this year.  I still have a little tweaking hear and their and a few more things to order, but I am pretty much done.

I know in my heart this is an attack of the enemy. So ladies you have been there for me before in prayer, I am calling on you all to pray again, especially those fellow homeschoolers out there who know the importance of homeschooling.

I did want to share with you after the sherrif left, I broke down and cried, "Lord, please help me. I know we heard from you on this matter. Go before us and prepare the way and make this right.

I sat there at my computer desk and noticed my calendar had not been flipped for that day.  When I looked at the scripture verse and read it, ( the one that is listed above.) oh how it ministered greatly to me.  But then I read what Nancy said in reference to that verse and I knew God had spoken to me.  I will rejoice because He will make it right, even while I sat there with tears in my eyes.

"He is the God of every circumstance. He is in the process of redeeming and making all things new. You can rejoice in Him, even when your eyes are filled with tears."

Nancy Lee DeMoss

I also knew that every tear that I cried, He was collecting in a bottle. My tears were not going unnoticed. We serve a loving Father who cares about our EVERY need.

God reminded me of another verse that is so precious to me.

"You number and record my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle--are they not in Your book?

Then shall my enemies turn back in the day that I cry out; this I know, for God is for me.

In God, Whose word I praise, in the Lord, Whose word I praise,

In God have I put my trust and confident reliance; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

Psalm 56:8-11

amplified version

Also I want to share this BEAUTIFUL poem with you, please check out her site at:

Isn't is so wonderful to know that even our tears are seen and caught by our daddy in heaven.  Just like a compassionate father wipes the tears of his little girl here on earth, even more my Heavenly Father wipes and collects mine.

TEARS IN A BOTTLE
A Tears in a Bottle Collection Signature Poem.
t
o Shirley Skidmore Holley and Megan

Like the pages in my bible,
That record my family tree;
You've recorded all my troubles,
In your book of tears, I see.
Here's the time I found my true love,
Happy tears shimmered on my face;
So sadly. I lost that loved one,
You received all my tears with grace.
You wrote down the birth of my child,
Prideful tears glistened in my eyes;
And when he (she) caused fear and sorrow,
You took my tears each time I cried.
See the star beside my new job,
You blessed me and I walked tall;
I got stubborn, went my own way,
You caught my tears, I took a fall.
All my tears are in a bottle,
My bible says you put them there;
To remind me of your presence,
Each time I shed tears in despair.
