Today Is My 11th Birthday

We are going to the Marcums' house tonight (our good friends). My brother Paulie and I are baking my birthday cake after breakfast today. Mom bought me a bunch of frosting and sprinkles and cool candles and we are going to decorate my cake. We will take it to the Marcums along with the dinner Mom is making for me. She said I can choose my dinner. I chose the best soup in the world which is homemade chicken noodle soup and the noodles too are homemade!!

Right now, Paulie is making my birthday breakfast. We're having pancakes with whipped cream and juice. I just set the table and everything is ready.

I am no longer 10 years old.

It is exciting to share my birthday with Schooter my dog. He loves cake. Maybe we can find a party hat for him. He loves wearing hats.

Soon I will post another story. This one is about Paul and his mom (the Paul in my series). It is about where Paul gets lost and God helped him to go home.

I just want to say this about my family:

Dad - He takes care of all of us.
Mom - I like to cook with my mom.
Paulie - He takes care of me.
Lukey - He helps me with my homework.
Levi - He plays with me a lot
Sus - She is my baby sister and I love her.

A Story I Wrote

Jill And Tom

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Jill. Her brother, Tom, and their dog, Cowboy, were also in the family. Jill was ten and Tom was eight. One day Jill said, "I want to play." Tom, said, "Let's go and play with Cowboy." Jill said, "Ok, but we can't find his bone." Tom said, "I know where it is; it's under Mother's rosebush. Cowboy hid it there!" Jill said, "Oh, let's go get it."

So Tom and Jill went and got the bone. Jill said, "Ok, now we can play with Cowboy. I will throw the bone and Cowboy will go get it. Then you can throw it, Tom." So Jill threw the bone but Cowboy did not see it. Jill said, "Why didn't Cowboy go get it?" Tom said, "because Cowboy did not see it." Jill said, "Oh, well I will go get it and then you can throw it, Tom." Tom said, "Ok."

So Jill went and got the bone. Tom said, "Now I will throw the bone." So Tom said, "Look, Cowboy. Look at the bone." Then Tom threw the bone and Cowboy went and got it. Jill and Tom said, "Good boy, Cowboy. Good boy." And then Tom said, "Let's play with Cowboy's ball. Do you know where it is, Jill?"

"Yes, I know where it is," said Jill. "It is behind the tree."

But when Tom went to get it, their mother said, "Jill! Tom! Time to do your reading." So Jill and Tom said, "Yes, Mother, we will come and read." And then when they were reading, Jill said, "Oh, Tom, I am big like Mother. I can spell Jesus. J-E-S-U-S." Tom said, "I am big. I can spell Jesus, too." Jill said, "No, Tom, you are not big like me and Mother. You can not spell Jesus." But Tom wanted to be big like Mother and Jill, so Tom said, "I am big like you, Jill. I can spell Cowboy. C-O-W-B-O-Y."

Jill said, "Oh, you are big like Mother and me. We are both big kids now. We are becoming like Mother. We will do things that are big. Jill and Tom went and did things that were big, but when Mother came, she said, "Why are you cleaning your rooms and watering my flowers and feeding the dog? I thought you were reading." Jill said, "Oh, Mother, I am so sorry, for I have disobeyed you." Tom said, "I am sorry, too. Will you forgive us, Mother?"

Mother said, "I will forgive you, but you need to obey. I am happy you were helping and trying to be big, but you need to read as I instructed."

Jill and Tom said, "Yes, Mother, we will obey you next time when you say to do something. Jill said, "But Mother, can we be done reading?" Their mother said, "Yes, you may be done. You both can go outside to play." Jill and Tom said, "Oh, thank you, Mother. Their mother said, "You're welcome. Oh, and Jill - Jane and Paul are coming over today." Jill and Tom were so happy they were coming!

Their mother said, "Jill, you and Jane can play dolls." Jill said, "Ok, I will go get my doll ready." Tom said, "What can I do with Paul, Mother?" His mother said, "You and Paul can play with the dog." Tom said, "Ok."

Just then, Jill ran into the kitchen and said, "Jane and Paul are here!" So Jill and Tom ran out of the house and Jill said, "Oh, good, you are here! Now we can play together." Jill and Jane started playing dolls, but when Paul looked at Tom's dog, he said, "Tom, that is the ugliest dog I have ever seen!" Tom said, "That is not true." Tom did not want to play with Paul.

Tom went inside the house. His mother said, "What are you doing, Tom?" Tom said, "Paul is not nice." His mother said, "Well, I was bringing some cookies. Do you want some?" "No, Mother, I am not hungry."
His mother said, "Ok, I will be outside if you need me."

But when she went outside, she said, "Oh, no! It is about to rain! Come in, children. I do not want you to get wet." Jill said, "Yes, Mother, here we come."

Paul said, "Mrs. May, what can we do now?" Mrs. May said, "Paul, you may play with Tom." Paul said, "Ok, I will play with Tom." So Paul went and played with Tom. Paul said, "I am so sorry for what I said about Cowboy. Can you please forgive me?" Tom said, "Ok, I will forgive you."

Then Jill's mother said, "Jill, I called Paul and Jill's mother and she said that Paul and Jill can stay the night for your birthday tomorrow." Jill was SO happy she ran out of the kitchen and told everyone, and the next morning, Jill got a new kitten from her mother and they all had a good time. THE END.

What I Have Been Up To

Right now, I am in Nashville with my parents and brother. We did a homeschool conference and had a table. We sold magazines.

I have been cooking a lot lately. My mom and I have been baking blueberry and blackberry muffins. First, we grind up the wheat. Then we put in buckwheat flour. We add nuts and sugars and oil. And baking powder. The mollasses powder does not taste good to me or my brother, but it needs to go in there anyway. Next, I have to put muffin papers in the muffin tin. Then I put the batter in the paper cups. We sprinkle sugar and oats on top of each muffin before it goes into the oven. The muffins come out of the oven piping hot. My dad thinks the muffins taste really good.

My Day Today

Today I went to my Auntie's house. My auntie has chickens and wants goats. The chickens' names are Curly and Rosie. Rosie laid two eggs. They were small. They have very good fishing over there as well. My cousin Emmiko caught eight fish so far. Ryann my cousin caught three bluegills.

Today, my uncle did something very special. He took me out for a boat ride on their pond. He let me row the boat by myself. It was not easy. While I was rowing the boat, my brothers would try to catch on so that they could pull me back to shore. It did not work. It was a fun game. I got away really easily. I had very much fun over there. And my aunt's family have a big field which will be used for planting crops. They are planting watermelon and they have lots of pumpkins. I am planting corn and cucumbers and cantaloupe. Dippy my cousin is planting carrots. My aunt has all these cups full of seeds but I do not know what she is planting. I guess I'll have to find out later.

Once we left my aunt's house, it started to rain and it really got stormy. The lightening was scary. But soon we got home. Then, the rain stopped. I had a very fun day.

I Enjoy Goats and I Cooked Today!!!

I really like horses and dogs. I think horses are beautiful. I think goats are fun. I think cats are cuddly.

Tonight, I cooked two things. The first thing was jello. I made it with my brother, Levi.

Let me tell you how jello is made: You use hot water and cold water and you mix that with the powder inside the jello box. You stir it very well so the powder dissolves. You put the bowl of jello in the fridge so it gets hard. I will eat it the next day.

The other thing I cooked tonight was broccoli. I put too much salt in it while it was cooking. Frist I cut off the stalk after washing it. Then I cut the little branches off. Then I put it in a pan with a little water. My mistake was when I added way too much salt!!!!

I ate my broccoli and it didn't taste that good, but I ate it all. I don't want to waste food.

Next time, I'd like to cook eggs.
