Flylady

I have been receiving Flylady emails for quite a while. I just delete most of them. After all, I've been a homemaker for a long time. I know what needs to be done. I'm usually ignoring it. Every so often, though, I do one of the "missions." I try to do the "27 Item Flings", but  I can never find enough  items to throw out. Does anyone really have that much clutter in their homes? I could "fling" the office, if I counted every scrap of paper as one item, I suppose. Maybe. My house is certainly untidy, but I just don't have that much to throw out.

Recently I "Fling-ed" my one untensil drawer in the kitchen and found a very satisfying amount of stuff to throw out. That was fun. And I did the bookshelves, which appalled my husband,  who loves to collect books. I also went through all my  boxes of sewing patterns. There were a few I threw out and I organized the rest into boxes. I need a new system for those. I think maybe I will get some more of those stacking plastic drawers on wheels. I keep my thread in those right now.

We have moved too often to collect much stuff. Most of what we do have in storage in the basement (Christmas, toys and books to save for the grandchildren, military gear, hunting equipment, etc) is in nice tidy Rubbermaid totes. All of my fabric is in Rubbermaid totes. If our house ever burned down, it would smell terrible.

I like the flylady emails, though. I have read some good ideas and some encouraging testimonies in there! I even  started a Control Journal, but the only things I put in it are some menu plans. I like organization.

I have been getting her emails for a while off and on too!. You dont have to have a 27 fling...if you are to that point you could have a 5 or 10 fling! The flings can also include items to put away, not just to throw away too! Keep up the good work.
