My blue cornbread stuffing failure.
|
Hello everyone! How is your holiday season doing? Ours has included LOTS of food. I had plans for lots of friends and family as well but alas the snow kept most everyone away. Our littlest one was turning one and we decided to tie in the Christmas party. At one point the list had hit the other side of 50 people. It turned out to be a big weekend for office parties. But what really killed it was the night of the party the local counties went under a special advisery cautioning people to stay home. Geesh! Ah well we have tons of food. My kids are running and protesting at the mere mention of turkey though. The ham was a huge hit though so I'll freeze the rest of the turkey and sneak it in later this month. Oh one funny that happened. We are on a gluten free diet so no normal stuffing. We use cornbread. I started making the cornbread for the stuffing and realized that I only had blue corn meal. So I thought it was no big deal and went ahead and made it. That evening when the turkey and stuffing hit the table there was a moment of silence. My hubby said,"Umm dear what is wrong with the stuffing it's purply-blue" my 5 year old yelled,"elephant boogies!" No good deed ever goes unpunished huh! Well God bless dear friends and may you have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas season! |
