Garden of your heart

I'm still thinking about that "simplified living"

Today as I was thinking about having a more simplified life and what better way to do that than to sit at Jesus feet.  We all remember the story of Mary and Martha.  Martha was so busy, hurrying around, taking care of things and worried that Mary wasn't helping enough.  Mary however, chose to sit at Jesus feet.  To hear Him speak!  What better way to simplify our lives!

I have been doing a study on "The Lord's Prayer" (probably better titled "The Disciples Pray).  A couple things that came to me as I have been studying is that God just wants our simple, sincere and secret prayers.  He doesn't want people who are just trying to follow a model of prayer in hopes of getting their prayers answered, but a people who are seeking Him and His will.  He wants people who are willing to confess and repent, and due to that repentance and realizing what Christ did on the cross, a people who are willing to forgive others...no strings attached!  He wants His people to realize that He is the only one that can meet each person's needs, and He is the only one that can protect us from the evil one (it's not our magic words of "I rebuke you).  He wants a people so completely and devoted to Him that everything in our lives point back to His holiness!    That is how we can worship Him!

I find that I can "overcomplicate" my life.  It's not supposed to be that hard.  It's all about Him.  He becomes greater, I become less!

Wonderful post!!! It's amazing how in our "busy-ness" of our lives, we so often forget to sup at the Lord's feet on a daily basis.... we have time for so much and yet the Lord becomes last on our list of "to do" .... mary truly did choose the better part. May you be blessed as you make choices to sit at the Lord's feet each & every day! He is anxiously awaiting your visits with Him!!

Blessings~~

Deb, I love your heart for the Lord! YES we can so complicate our lives with non-essentials, one of them being fretting and worrying with things we are able to lay at the Jesus' feet!

I have been encouraged today as I read in scripture how Jesus is the One mediator ! That's for personal reasons (of which you know about) but it just kind of re-affirmed the whole "if God is for me, then who can be against me?"
God is SO faithful, so the very least we can do is present our hearts faithfully to Him each day-He's certainly got our backs on everything else!

If we just keep meditating on John 3:30 things seem to fall into proper perspective!

May your day be wonderful and blessed!
