Wow, where did 2007 go? It's hard to believe how fast time flies. I guess that is a sign of getting older! As I reflect over 2007, it was a good year. My husband has stayed healthy this year. My dad is able to still enjoy visiting family out of town even though he has serious health issues. I have good health overall. I am able to serve the Lord both in the home and at church. I am blessed with dear friends and family. So much to be thankful for. I can see how God has provided for us, not just monetarily, but in every way. As I anticipate 2008, I am cautiously excited. Why? I guess I am not one that is thrilled about the unknown. That's the "control freak" in me, I guess. But, I am thrilled to know the One who doesn't just know what lies ahead, but also loves me and will be with me each moment of every day. I like to set goals each year. I don't always meet these, but if you are not striving for something then you are sure to not reach anything either. I just realized this week that I did accomplish one homemaking goal that I had set. I used to be a little too lazy when it came to dishes. I would often leave them in the sink until dinne time (often because the dishwasher was full and I didn't have time to empty it, etc). So, I decided that I would make sure the dishwasher was ran each night and first thing in the morning I would empty it and that way be able to make sure that the dishes did not sit in the sink or on the counter in the daytime. It makes for a much nicer/cleaner kitchen. So....for this year. What would some of my goals be: Homemaking: Keep clutter picked up every day. That means mail, paper, books, etc. Sometimes I can clutter a counter or desk easily and plan to get back to the stuff, but don't for a little while and it just gets worse and takes longer to clean up. Spiritually: Connect with God each morning before I do anything else. That will involve me not turning on the computer first thing in the morning. Health: Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Reduce sweet intake to occasionally. Learn to do more "whole foods" cooking. Exercise regularly(whether working in yard, going for walk, doing a DVD). Those are just a few areas I am looking at. The one thing that I am learning is that if I miss a day or two or a week at one of the goals, it is never too late to start again! :) Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 126 of 180 } { Next Page } |
