Day Six - Being Thankful

I am finding I just have so much to be thankful for.  To just list 7 things this week is really hard....because I probably have 100 things to be thankful for!  Today I would like to express my gratitude for my dad.  My dad and I have always been close.  When I was young, I was definately "daddy's little girl."  When I was young he would hug me, play with me, etc.  when he was home.  He was a truck driver and would be gone a lot when I was growing up.  I remember that he would call home (this was before cell phones) and as soon as I said "hi daddy" I would start crying and couldn't talk because I missed him so much.  He would often come home and take me for a soda or something so we could talk when I was a teenager.  He always tried to keep peace in the home and would listen to me.  Now that I am an adult, and my dad lives with us it is a little different.  I am loving the fact that I get to see my dad everyday.  I probably have spent more time with him now than growing up which is a blessing.  He is so good about teaching me how to do things so I do not have to pay someone else to do it.  When I was young he taught me how to change the oil and tires on the car.  Just so you know I have never done it, because some things are just worth paying for!  LOL!  Yesterday he taught me how to clean out and winterize our evaporative coolers.    I am blessed to have a dad who is patient, kind and loving!  :)
