Garden of your heart

"An excellent wife....

is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones."  Proverbs 12:4

When I read this, I am challenged to be an excellent (superior, very good of its kind) wife.  Isn't that what is said about the Proverbs 31 woman.  "An excellent woman, who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies."  Proverbs 31:10     I am studying the proverbs 31 woman and will begin a mini study on my blog. 

Things to think about:

Reflect on:  An Excellent woman,  who can find?  and  "An excellent wife is the crown of her husband"

Am I an excellent wife? 

Am I superior for MY husband?     As women we tend to compare ourselves to others.  This is sin!  We are to compare ourselves to the word of God.  As we evaluate this, I want us to evaluate with the idea of our we the best wife we can be (superior) to our own husbands.  We know scriptures says that we are to be his help meet.  So, when evaluating things, we need to evaluate according to our husbands needs and desires (not how everyone else does it)  We need to evaluate according to the Word of God.

Am I ready to allow God to show me areas in my life that I need to improve upon?

Am I willing to call sin as sin in my life and not give excuses for my actions?

Am I an excellent wife even when things do not go my way?  Or when I am tired?  Or when our monthly cycle affects our moods, irritability level, etc.  Or when our husbands might not be doing what they need to be doing? 

Pray for a willing heart!  Pray for God to show us what areas we need to work on.   Ask Him, "am I an excellent wife." 

Maybe keep a journal throughout this study!  :)
