We did it!

We had the yard sale!  It didn't do quite as well as we had hoped, but we made enough for what we were needed.....God is good!  He knew our need and met it once again! :)

We have lots left to donate and a couple nicer items we will try and sell other places.  I still have an antique lamp and a quilt frame/stand and extension.  It is brand new!  :)  My mom never used it and I thought I would try and get into quilting but the question arises:  When would I ever have time.  My life is so full now with lots of things. So, I am attempting to sell it through a quilting club I know of in the area.

Today is going to be a Day of Rest for us!  We will be going to church this morning.  I am so looking forward to connecting with people who worship with and hearing the message on Philippians 2.  :)

This week my husband has meetings and begins his "official" new school year with two teacher days and next week school starts.  This summer has been good for him and so he is ready to get back to work.  We thank the Lord that we were able to enjoy all the time we had together.  I will probably get all weepy when he gets back to work full-time, but I am sure we will adjust quickly.  I am so blessed to have a husband who is home every night.  I grew up with a truck driver dad who would be gone 2-3 weeks at a time.  That had to be difficult on my mom.  I know I also missed him.

So, hug your families!  Appreciate the time with them.  Be content with what God has provided you.  I was talking to my nephew who was saying he wanted this, wanted that, etc.  I told him that God wants us to be content.  I said, do you know what that means?  He said no (I didn't think so, he is only 5).  I told him that it is to be happy with what you already have (the easiest way to explain to him.)  So, he said...I am happy for the toys I have, I am happy with....."  and he no longer said he wanted that other item.  LOL!  He is so impressionable....I am thankful that I can help impress God's Word on him!
